Those weren't crocodile tears. She was genuinely emotionally upset because she got played. That's why she was being consoled and encouraged by that other Representative.

When this bill came up out of the blue, her gut reaction was her first vote...a "no" vote. Then someone reminded her that she has a LOT of Jewish people in her district and a no vote would piss them off. So, she changed her vote to "present". That way it could be spun that "Hey...I didn't vote against the bill. (And for the anti-Semites in her district, "Hey, I didn't vote for the bill.")" It wasn't cowardice...she's trying to save her ass.

But what really upset her most was what the House big boys and girls did to her and her Squad in retaliation for her actions the day before with the spending bill. She put them on the spot, so they slapped her upside the head. In effect, they told her..."Dial it back, child. You haven't been around here long enough to make big moves yet."

That was a tough love kind of lesson.
