That's scary. How can a forum owner be held liable for what people say about others? I think it has startling implications. (Follow the link in the first line for more about the case.)

Maybe (I would certainly hope) the poster complaining was not anonymous.

I actually shudder to think of these implications for all forum owners. In Canada and everywhere else.

Good post. I think.

I agree, it sets a bad precedence, and could limit what content forum owners allow.

Imagine if you couldn't call me a dirt bag. Imagine!!! Wait. You can't call me a dirtbag. Well, you could, but you'd prolly get 3 points. Then I would demand the Moderators remove your post. They would refuse. I would be Maggie Stompy Foot (instead of Obama) and off we'd go to SCOTUS. :rofl

No it wouldn't fly in the USA,but Canada is getting so P.C. it's scarey.

Human Rights Tribunals...get this THE TRUTH OR FACTS are inconsequential as evidence to contradict the 'claimant.'

This could lead to forum shut down in Canada. One I'm a member at has already dropped politics.
There's no liit on what might be impacted as I read.
