If they have something they call a man bun.

It wouldn't be okay to hit them but it would be good for them.
 
Plenty.

Don’t know as though they’re advisable, but there are plenty of reasons.

One may face criminal charges though.
 
There are plenty of possible reasons to hit a man.
 
Nobody has the right to hit another outside of war or legitimate personal danger to self or others.

I personally am opposed to the death penalty because it usually keeps the families of victims stuck in a lifecycle of hatred. However, like abortion, I respect society's rule of law and am fine with the imposed death penalty as what society determines as a just punishment for actions. Personally, I'd prefer to see some real controls in place where the death penalty is concerned...but again...I dont make the rules of society.

In war many reasons, in peace far fewer. In boxing, mixed martial arts, martial arts and New-world football (not soccer) yes, in tennis, no. To whack a buddy on the back in congratulations, yes. To punish a comedian with really bad taste for an offensive joke, no. For a doctor to restart a patient's heart as a matter of last resort, yes. For a police officer to control a non-violent suspect, no. For a parent doing blocked airway procedure to their choking child, yes. For a father to punish a naughty child, no.

It's all about the context more than the blow itself. High five! (Can we still do that?)

A couple times... when I was in my later teenage years. I took Shotokan (Brown Belt) and some basic Jiu-Jitsu and after that never came close to hitting anybody. Cooler heads, some holds a few of times in bars and a couple of places to stop fights and then 20+ years of bliss.

But the death penalty can impose violence an a person who does not present an "imminent threat" to anyone and you said this was the only exception.

Yeah, there's that period in every young man's life when your body seems to way over-react, adrenaline-wise, to situations. Where I grew up the parking lot of the Dell Hotel was a round-robin fistfight on Saturday night, buncha drunks flailing at each other. Sunday mornings, if your hands hurt more than your face you won, if your face hurt more than your hands you lost.
Dumb but nothing serious.
