Today, "if you look at the National Counterterrorism Center's list of designated terrorist groups, you will see that all the groups that are listed are based outside the United States." Apparently, this may have to do with US residents having First Amendment protection, while folks outside US do not enjoy such US protection. So opening the door to disallowing belonging to a (loosely defined in this case) organization is not too far-sighted?

But Trump would not care about such nuances...

Antifa would be the FIRST US-based group to get this designation.

In the mean time, ...

Antifa = 0 kills for political reasons.

Right-wing extrimists = 110 people killed for political reasons since 9/11

To the Cult, I am sure it makes sense for Trump to designate Antifa, but not the more dangerous and deadly right-wing extremists, right?

P.S. I am guessing "Democrats" will be next on the list terrorist organizations, right?

P.P.S. I do not support what Antifa is doing in any shape or form. All its members committing a crime should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

This is the largest nationwide violent riot in US history. The cost of destruction will be in the billions and will take a decade to recover from.

You have no proof Antifa has anything more to do with this than the right wing extremists.

If the police were better at their jobs, better at defusing tense situations rather than escalating them, the protests would never have devolved into riots. As it is, most police departments have only demonstrated that they are every bit the authoritarian knuckleheads the protestors make them out to be.
 
The reason why organizations designated as terrorist are all foreign is because they do not enjoy protections under the Constitution. Any attempt by Trump to designate Antifa as a terrorist organization will be quickly struck down by the courts. But in any case, this is absolutely absurd considering this is the same clown who labeled those chanting "Jews Will Not Replace Us!" as 'good people.'

Trump was referring to Antifa being added to terrorist list due to its (presumable) actions within the US.

Do you have anything showing Antifa has had any more activity outside the US? I have not found it. Most people here refer to Antifa as a barely-organized group of local societies across the US.

You're missing the main point. Antifa stands for "Anti-Fascist". Trump's "very fine people", an integral part of his base, are Fascists. Trump is just trying to protect his base, and obviously that component of his base are going to support that defense.

Let's keep it accurate. Trump referred to some of the Neo Nazis and White Supremacists as "very fine people". Apparently some Neo Nazis are only "fine people", and don't make the cut for "very".

So it's a white guy....that's going to mess up the narrative of a good chunk of Trump's base: that it's the blacks who are doing all the rioting, causing all the problems.

And the fact that he's wearing an Antifa scarf means nothing. He could have found it lying on the ground and decided to wear it. He could hate Antifa, and be trying to attract negative media attention on them. And yes, you could be correct and he is against Neo Nazis, and other members of Trump's cadre of "very fine people." We don't know.

Antifa has been active in Europe for years. The name is a shortened version of "antifaschistisch". They started out as a reaction to neo-nazism and had a less negative image.
If I remember right they came from the resistance to Mussolini.
 

You might want to actually read why the National Counterterrorism Center was created: Established by the 1984 Act to Combat International Terrorism, Public Law 98-533, the Program is administered by the US Department of State's Bureau of Diplomatic Security.

ANTIFA is most certainly not the first domestic terrorist organization. The very first domestic terrorist organization would be the Ku Klux Klan created by the Democratic Party in 1865. So designated by Congress in the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871.

The Democratic Party is without a doubt the biggest sponsor of both domestic and international terrorism on the planet. Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress created and funded ISIS, as well as funding the Muslim Brotherhood that toppled our long term ally Egypt during his "Arab Spring" in 2010. That alone should have resulted in the Democratic Party being declared a terrorist organization under Public Law 107-40, having its assets seized, and its leadership tossed into GITMO.

The Democratic Party has always been the greatest enemy the US has ever faced since its inception, and nothing has changed since.

There is a direct correlation between the two: Both ANTI-First Amendment terrorists and the rioting are occurring ONLY in Democrat-controlled sh*tholes. Nowhere else will you find ANTI-First Amendment terrorists or rioters, except where Democrats have total control: Minneapolis, St. Louis, Atlanta, New York, etc. The Democratic Party provides protection to these rioters and ANTI-First Amendment terrorists, which is why you will find them no where else.
