Wanted to get your guys reaction to this video. I open carry regularly and I have had two times where people have harassed my one them stating they wish they could poison me.

But that guy with the camera couldn't make me stop laughing from his stupidity.

Notice who took the high road and who was the complete ass.

So Billy Bob doesn't like this guy standing on a corner with a holstered handgun because it's "intimidating," but he can get in the other guy's face with a camera and pepper him with questions? Whatever happened to the right not to be bothered?

Yeah I couldn't watch the whole thing. I admire the young man that was the primary subject for his self-control and restraint, and I agree that Constitutional Carry (open or concealed, without permit) would be properly in line with the 2A.

However you probably wouldn't catch me, personally, anywhere near an open carry rally or demonstration. If open carry were allowed in my state I'd probably continue to carry concealed most of the time. If I did open-carry, it would be while quietly going about my usual business and not looking for any kind of confrontation. If confronted, I'd probably just smile and keep on walking and not respond... as long as nobody violated my personal space or laid hands on me. If I said anything, it would probably be "It's the law, deal with it," while walking on. If my business obliged me to stay in place for a time, and someone was in my face like this camera guy, I'd ask him to leave me alone; failing that I'd threaten to call 911 and tell them I was being harassed and filmed without my permission.

I'm just not generally interested in unnecessary confrontations... especially not with douchebags like the guy doing the filming here.

Not to mention using denigrating terms and harassing language and general douchebaggery towards the guy from the first moment.

You can't win with idiots like this. Dude with the weapons should have just said nothing. Arguing with idiot is fruitless.

Ah yes! That appears to be the epitome of the "reasonable gun control" argument.

I often wonder how many people who can legally open carry could be confident about keeping their firearms from being stolen.

I think open handgun carry is a bad idea. It is outlawed in our state in favor of concealed carry for this very reason.

I am in favor of the right, but personally I cant think of a reason why I would want to open carry, it just leads to BS like this.

I can't speak for everyone who carries but I'm pretty doggone confident.

Exactly. What the Nervous Nellies don't see can't scare them.

That is a legitimate concern.

Uniformed police officers "open carry" with an exposed holster... and most use Level III retention systems. That means the holster is designed to be hard for anyone but the guy wearing it to draw from... typically you have to press in two places (at least one not so obvious) to release the holding mechanisms and draw in a particular manner to clear the holster.

As training vids from my LE days revealed, though, many of these holsters are subject to being torn off or apart by brute force, especially leather ones.

Also most Police departments teach gun-retention skills (the flip side to disarming HTH). Generally they don't really drill them as much as they should, but at least they teach them.

Citizens who open carry should also study this matter and take appropriate precautions.

I rather OC and deal with duchess from time to time instead of them getting their way.

Most of us do.

I am not opposed to OC. Give me half a chance I will vote in favor of it.

Personally, I am not all that interested in doing it myself. Mainly for tactical reasons; secondarily for social reasons.

Dood with the camera is shaking like a leaf. What a sad pathetic bitch. :lamo

Oh and its AWESOME with the pretense of 'the chirruns' while he is dropping f-bombs in their presence.

There are tac and social reasons for both. I know u r not one of them but I hate those that CC think they are better then those that OC.

I am totally a gun and gun rights guy, but I can't help but point out that the word "****" does a lot less damage to a child than a bullet would.

Got nothing against it. I OC on my own land, and when hunting (about the only times it is legal in my state, which is otherwise strong on gun rights... well we're making progress in that direction at least).

I'd welcome full legal Constitutional Carry in my state. OC, CC, with or without permit, fine.

Now the guys that went in Starbucks with the AR and Tac shotgun on one-point slings and held at low-ready... that was kind of douchy and attention-whore-ish in my opinion, and carrying in that low-READY manner has a threatening look about it that doesn't sit well with me for public places.

But holstered sidearms or slung long guns, I have no problem with.

Personally I like CC for many reasons. Maybe I'll do a pro and con post next...

F bombs were flying that day. Bullets were not. In point of fact, no one was at risk by the individual open carrying a weapon.

Interestingly...the Police officer that popped up about 3/4 through the video was also open carrying. For some reason...thats not a problem to people.

Yup. That's for sure.

That 'right' doesn't apply to those that disagree or hold opinions other than the leftist ideology, or hadn't you noticed?

Dam the exercising of lawful and legitimate rights, if the leftists don't agree.

Not always wise to antagonize someone with a firearm. Just sayin'

You have evidence of this, maybe, or are you just talking out of your barrel?

Open Carry WA we teach people that are new to OC what retention holsters you should use and teach those that want learn proper technique to retain a firearm.
