And he's gonna win (it's a solid red district) and the GOP knew about this stuff beforehand but decided not to talk about it because they didn't think he had a chance to win the primary.

The article is fascinating.

So a self hating GOP candidate. sounds about right.

I missed the part of the article that actually establishes that he is "anti-gay."

So now "opposes transgender girls competing in women’s sports, wants parents to be able to “obtain professional counseling” for their trans kids" is "anti-gay"?

Must be a fringe leftist publication.

Big surprise.

The self loathing ones are always trying to pass laws...

Another Republican hypocrite.

Well, he's at least ticked the hypocrisy box required for Republican candidates in the 2020's. Nothing some Christians love better than a recanting saved soul.

Its interesting to note per that article, he chose to make out a police report on this extortion scheme,. Not a fan of 'outing' public figures as gay, or throwing out that 'hypocrisy' justification for what is -in effect - some very dirty habit- forming tactics. Too many partisans on all sides have a vested interest in broadening the definition of 'hypocrisy,' just large enough to suit their own desire for a take down of a political opponent.

We have not gotted as far as we have in the gay rights movement, by silencing or castrating the 'right wing closet case'. This kind of outing, does not move the needle on polling numbers on gay rights, nor has it won us any big votes in state legislatures or Congress.

For me to know for sure if he has ticked that 'hypocrisy box', I need to preclude that old Libertarian box. It would help to know his public stance on marriage equality, and what his views are more broadly on statutory anti-discrimination civil rights laws that extend protection to private business behavior. His position could be that he does not believe in those civil rights laws in the first place, and he does not want to extend the scope of what he sees as a terrible intrusion of big govt.

I find it hard to believe multiple men even found him attractive !!

Some of us gay men ACTUALLY have standards.

This is not my dad's republican party. I had some respect for that party.

Well, for starters he is a republican candidate. I've yet to see one that isn't anti gay.

He was the victim of a crime....one in where he gave out blow jobs?

It seems that those that are the most vocal about anti-gay rhetoric are the ones with homosexual tendencies that they hate in themselves.

Science has known this for decades.

As soon as China is fully prepared to invade Taiwan we'll know it because China will invade Taiwan. I'm not holding my breath.
