Last year, an enterprising advertising executive based in Boston, Massachusetts, had an idea: Instead of using his sophisticated mobile surveillance techniques to figure out which consumers might be interested in buying shoes, cars, or any of the other products typically advertised online, what if he used the same technology to figure out which women were potentially contemplating abortion, and send them ads on behalf of anti-choice organizations?

Flynn’s targeting of women seeking abortion presents a serious threat to the privacy and safety of women exercising their right to choose, as well as to abortion providers and their staff, a Rewire investigation has found. But due to weak and patchwork laws governing privacy and data collection in the United States, the conduct appears to be perfectly legal.

Wow there are some truly sick, derabged and scary people out there . . I dont support this stuff for any reason but it makes it even more scary that its attempting to infringe on rights and working the grey areas of privacy and using total dishonesty and deception.

I really hope this isnt true and if it is i hope the loopholes and law is fixed VERY soon . . .whats the lie we always here from the nutter extremists about "shoved down our throats" LMAO oh the irony . . .when nutters say it, it simply isnt true but now they are doing it and its fine lol...what complete jokes these people are. Although Taylor may not be coming from a place of...sympathy...exactly, I hate to say that the principle of what he's saying is dead to rights. There's a reason I don't post my politics to Facebook, or why I turn off location sharing or why I use vpn's and why I don't say where I'm vacationing while I'm on vacation and my home is susceptible to burglary. Think rationally. They're not facing creepy zealot stalkers, they're facing advertisements on their cell phones paid for by people who have no contact with them and no way of making contact.

This isn't even anti-choice protesters standing outside the clinic-- which is their right-- it's pictures on a computer screen.

I think it may have to do with what is being googled on your cell phone.
I rarly use that app but since I post on this Forum and google a lot of abortion articles on my computer , they might very well put me on their list even though I already went trough menopause well over 20 years ago.

When my daughter asked me to research and compare cruises for her honeymoon I got ads for cruises for the next year even though I was not interested.

Ok, thank you for clarifying your stance about abortion is religious since you find this is an effort to save girl's souls.

I do not see anything religious about joG's stance at all. Liberals like to portray women having abortions as well educated, well informed, that they analyzed the pros and cons for several months, performed a cost benefit analysis, printed out spread sheets and charts, etc..

The fact is most of the women having abortion are scared, poor, many do not speak English, not aware of all their rights or laws, and are very much in the air about having an abortion. As a moral and just society we need to provide comfort and guidance to these young women, not send them to the abortion mills suffering unspeakable pain.

This indeed is about saving souls, hearts and minds. Do you support banning pornography in the library? How about making sure men are not allowed to shower with little girls? These issues are very much about saving the souls of our youth and I find that a vital/necessary function of our government.

Many of these women are alone, poor (blacks) underdeveloped mentally (most are still teenagers) and do not have many family members supporting them. Many do not speak English (Hispanic).

Allowing them to make a hesitant decision alone would seem.... immoral.
