Patriot Act moves ahead despite opposition

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate overwhelmingly rejected an effort Thursday to block renewing the Patriot Act, the 2001 law passed weeks after the Sept. 11 attacks to help the government hunt down terrorists.
The 96-3 vote was no suprise to Sen. Russell Feingold, the Wisconsin Democrat who was the lone senator to oppose the law four and a half years ago and is the chief obstacle to extending 16 provisions now due to expire March 10.

The patriot act isn't for stopping said terrorists, because the terrorists aren't listed in the patriot act.

The real meaning of the patriot act is for POLICE STATE AMERICA, and the real definition of a terrorist are those who oppose the plans of the RICH and their quest for total control.

This thread does not belong in this forum. Given the level of paranoia involved here, it might be better suited for the conspiracy theory forum. It is unreasonable to demand that our government keep treating terrorists like criminals instead of enemies after 9/11. We must be aggressive. The Patriot Act is a step in the right direction.

which normaly have ties to the CIA / FBI, like with Christian idenity...many of the movements are CREATED so Solutions can be PROVIDED!

Normally with all of them government is play a role in creating them, so solution can be offered.

The whole flap about white militia wanting to take over the government was a lie, it was promoted so Clintong (AAE) could go after Americans, after the OKC bombing thats just what happened, blaming Americans for a Government black op program with middle easter ties, Clinton domestic terrorism bill is now morphed into the patriot act.

Just like the Middle easter terrorists in America, who did they get here? Our govenrment brought them in and protected them.
