Yet another nail in the AGW coffin.

" Antarctic sea ice has grown to a record large extent for a second straight year, baffling scientists seeking to understand why this ice is expanding rather than shrinking in a warming world.
On Saturday, the ice extent reached 19.51 million square kilometers, according to data posted on the National Snow and Ice Data Center Web site. That number bested record high levels set earlier this month and in 2012 (of 19.48 million square kilometers). Records date back to October 1978."

It's almost as if climate scientists predicted that global warming will result in extreme weather patterns of all sorts of varieties.

Wait, they did.

we can go into an Ice Age and liberals would still try to spin that data to show global warming

so I guess ice forms in warmer temperature these days
is that part of the global warming science that ice forms at higher temperature caused by global warming
How often does a science need to be wrong before it losses all creditability?

Is it extreme? Maybe it's perfectly normal, whatever "normal" is. Point is though it sure does not seem to be getting warmer and the ice sure isn't melting at the southern tip of the planet.

You actually posted this!

Now, what do climate scientists predict will happen as a result of global warming? Come on, you can say it.

As I've said often before there are far too many well paid 'experts' claiming to know far more on this than they actually do. Our understanding of the sorts of processes at work here are sketchy to non existent in reality

that ice will form at higher temperatures because how else can we have Antarctic sea ice hit 35-year record high in hotter temperatures

or is the new argument that global warming will cause the earth to cool

That's quite an admission. Who's your paymaster?

Jack Haze thought we need another string on this. Not remembering, or even knowing what's posted previously.

This, the first of 3 on Antarctic Ice growth/record/extent in less than a month.

Every Climate denier gets their own string on the Same topic.

How many threads do we have to have where the right-wingers talk about ice area instead of ice volume?

Like, do any of you think critically about the stuff you post? Or do you just regurgitate whatever Watts spits out that particular day?

The 2013 summertime minimum extent is in line with the long-term downward trend of about 12 percent per decade since the late 1970s, a decline that has accelerated after 2007. This year’s rebound from 2012 does not disagree with this downward trend and is not a surprise to scientists.
"I was expecting that this year would be higher than last year," said Walt Meier, a glaciologist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. "There is always a tendency to have an uptick after an extreme low; in our satellite data, the Arctic sea ice has never set record low minimums in consecutive years."

No one looks at data from months or even a few years and draws conclusions....

The trend is undeniably down....

Though my data is relevant, I'm sure it will be pointed out to me that the data that I'm quoting is for the Arctic, not ANTartic...

My humble apologies....

The claim was "extreme weather events" caused by increased global warming. I'm pretty sure ice growing despite warming temperatures isn't what they meant. Warming temperatures would inhibit ice growth and that's common sense, I figure they assumed people could at least understand that..By extreme weather events they meant increased or decreased rainfall, tornado increases or increased severity, hurricanes, so on and so forth.. Ice loss kind of comes with warmer temperatures, and ice gain comes with lowering temperatures. Precipitation on the other hand could be due to an extreme weather event, and if you want to make the claim global warming made the ice grow, you first need to establish that it was due to precipitation and not temperature, and you have to prove that the precipitation levels were indeed high enough to cause not only the growth, but the growth despite the higher temps..

So let us know when you do that..
