There is nothing wrong with any of this. It happened with Bush, it happens with Obama. God forbid our children learn some civic pride. The :spin: smells like ****.
Seriously. If my kids had been singing songs in homage ofBush, ANYONE! I'd have been pissed.
I bet YOU have sung songs in homage of Bush.
Only yours shorty..
Plus, you show video of TWO classrooms. That is hardly proof of anything. If it was handed down from the white house and people were forced to do this, then fine. What people should be up in arms about is Fox showed those children on their news cast without permission from parents. That is the outrage, not the songs, especially since the parents didn't mind.
Aww, thanks boo. But don't tell your wife that. You've gotten a lot from hers recently.
 yes, yes I have.
There is an assumption that a rogue teacher with an agenda cooked up this song as a lesson in pro president propaganda.
This is a lesson in civics. Elementary schools frequently use songs in their lessons.
They were honoring African's American's service to our country.
Which African Americans? Was the song about Martin Luther King, Jr? Or Rosa Parks? Or W.B. DuBois?
I challenge your assertion that these children learned ANYTHING from this song aside from slavish adoration of the current president.
Christopher M. Manno, the superintendent of Burlington Township School District, issued a statement to parents saying the students were singing the song "to honor the contributions of African Americans to our country" in conjunction with February's Black History Month.
Yes, I realize that he did so. It's a shame this effort didn't focus on real contributions. Obama has been president 8 months and is currently a sitting president. What part of the song honored his specific "accomplishments," aside from the fact that he got elected?[/QUOTE
Barack Obama is the first African American elected President in history, which is a historical big deal.

I see the lyrics. I don't, however, see how that fits into Black History month.
Then the song should have focused on that FACT, instead of promoting a political agenda.
Parents approved the lyrics says the title. Are you calling the Superintendent of Schools a liar?:2wave:
Too bad. The ones with the 'political agenda' are Fox News and conservative media spinning away.
I love this President. Barack Obama is an extremely popular and praiseworthy President. The context of the song was the exuberance felt after the inaugeration during Black History month. Why is this dug up now?
