We all know Obama has lied his ass of about everything he has done or said
and nothing has worked so why not stop all spending and Socialist/Marxist
plans dead cold in their tracks.

Obama has claimed the Republicans are the party of NO, I would like the Tea
Party to become the Party od Restore America or we are going to be,
"The Party of HELL NO."

In part the White House Blog says:http://http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2010/09/10/another-government-shutdown

Today the President once again discussed his proposals to boost America’s
economic recovery – from rebuilding America’s roads and bridges, to giving
businesses incentives to invest, to help for small business. If one sat back
and tried to think of the most bipartisan idea the President could possibly
propose to boost job creation, it would probably be providing tax breaks for
small businesses, and yet even this has been blocked by the partisan
Republican minority from even coming up for an up-or-down vote for months.

Speaking to hundreds of activists gathered at the Mayflower Hotel in

Washington for the Faith and Freedom Conference, Rep. Lynn

Westmoreland (R-Ga.) urged the audience to stand with House

Republicans when they go toe-to-toe with President Barack Obama.

Westmoreland said his caucus – presuming it takes control of the

House come November – aims to pass spending bills that Obama

is likely to veto. He predicted Republicans would not be able to

override such a veto, creating a standoff that could cause

Congress to grind to a halt.

“If the government shuts down, we want you with us,” he said.

The congressman recalled a similar shutdown that took place

in 1995, when Newt Gingrich – also a speaker at the conference –

was serving as House speaker.

I think you might be too partisan when you hope the entire government stops working just to spite someone. How about the representatives actually recognize the President and their colleagues in the House/Senate as just as rightfully elected by the American people as they are, then make compromises and actually do something?

With a huge recession, massive debt, and two wars still being fought, not to mention all the stuff the US gov't has to do, along with how pissy and partisan a government shutdown will make everyone, who wants to suffer that? I'd rather have my President and congress doing their jobs instead of playing politics, seriously its like the ****ing special Olympics everyone is too concerned with winning to realize how retarded they are.

This my way or the highway bull**** has to stop.

The Party of No approach has got to stop. Agreed. But then we've always had a Party of No approach to politics. It's just that it's more apparent now that the Obama White House has advocated and passed the least popular legislation in the history of the USA.

As to Washington grinding to a halt, I'm of the opinion that if Congress were to shut down for six months (except for any already in-place funding that has to happen), we'd all be better off. Congress looks for ways to spend our money. I'd be quite happy if they stopped. How much new legislation does our 250-year-old country need? Most of it represents bull**** vote-buying spending, bridges to nowhere, and further intrusion into our lives.

Liberals just don't get it.
When you want to get out of a hole the first thing you have to do is stop digging.

So far everything this Congress and Obama have done has dug a deeper hole.

We have seen Obama, Pelosi, and Reid have run up a debt that is bigger than all previous debts, and it has to stop, and if he won't listen to reason because of his personal radical wishes to destroy this Nation with his Cloward & Pevin tactics and his Black Liberation Theology and Socialist/Marxist up bringing, this is nothing left to do but shut it down.

This has nothing what ever to do with being partisan I am Conservative and I know my history and Obama is doing everything in direct opposition to what is needed.

This is about saving Our Nation from total economic collapse, and the end to the further destruction of our Constitution and the Rule of Law, all of which is currently wrong.

In the future, you might want to begin your argument with a premise that is genuinely true.

"We all know Obama lied about everything" is a lie. It's not even close to the truth.

Stop being a partisan wanna-be pundit and make intelligent criticisms of the President.

By the way, the smartest person in the Tea Party said Obama is not a socialist, so find a new insult for him

AND THIS REALLY IS JUST A FEW.

It's not partisan to want something left for our Grandchildren, but Obama wants to kill the nation, it's one thing the Liberals hate. It's called being a PATRIOT.

Funny how that "patriotism" was non existent from the right under Bush who created the crap you are in now.. and those that did complain were called all sorts of names and non of them had anything to do with "patriotism".

Don't forget that, as someone inhabiting a whole other continent, you don't have a right to an opinion on the subject.

Liberals can keep saying that until the cows come home and it still won't be true. Most of this rescission in is on Obama now. He's the one who made the Bush deficit through the roof, and who is trying to kill the economy with really stupid ideas.

By the way I was against much of what Bush did and spent 7 years telling thousands of people that every day. Bush was not a Conservative, he was more of a progressive, and he had the wrong attitude on Illegal Aliens and allowing the Military run and win the wars without stupid restrictions like the ones Obama is still allowing Karzai ti dictate rules of engagement.

Patriotism is not about partisanship. It's about the Constitution as written by our founding Fathers the rule of law following the oath of office which I do and not allowing a usurper like Obama erode any of it.

Sure. Shut it down.

Shut down the government so we can't pay for our soldiers to fight in Afghanistan anymore.

Shut down the government so our veterans can't get the medical assistance they need after they've sacrificed themselves for the safety of our nation.

Shut down the government so no farm subsidies get paid out.

Shut down the government so the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships won't be giving out any more taxpayer money to religious organizations.

Shut down the government so the FCC will no longer have the budget to censor television and radio programs for obscenities.

Shut down the government so law enforcement agencies won't have the manpower to kick squatters out of foreclosed home seized illegally by banks.

Shut down the government so border patrol won't have the resources necessary to stop illegal immigrants from coming into our country.

Shut down the government so our courts will have such a small budget that forces them to have such a small amount of time to operate that they won't have time to deal with petty drug crimes.

Shut down the government so the defense contractors that get inflated no-bid contracts from politicians they give donations to won't get any more taxpayer money and take a hit in their stock value during an economic recession and have to fire their employees.

Shut down the government so intelligence agencies won't have the resources or manpower necessary to stop the next terrorist attack being planned.

You want to shut down the government? Go ahead. I dare you to try.

Since Obama has gotten into Office the Economy has slowly been improving. The spiraling Job Loss that we had at the end of the Bush Presidency has stabalized, and we are now gaining jobs. Most of that Deficit you speak of is Tarp and the Bush Tax Cuts, both of which predated Obama. Obama is so far doing a good job as president, especially considering the trash economy, spiraling deficit, and two wars he inherited from Bush.

Nice tactic, if you make your argument a conspiracy theory its impossible to argue against after you detach yourself from reality.

And yet you are giving Bush a get out of jail free card on the present economic situation and blaming Obama for everything. If you had any real economic training then you would know that you can not turn around an economy over night and especially not an economy that was in such a big hole and going down when Obama took over. Obama may have made lots of mistakes, but the Republicans, aka the party of NO, have done nothing to help him or the American people get out of the hole that they created under Bush. So sir, you are not being truthful.

So you really buy into the talking point about 800K jobs a month has stopped. Of course it stopped do you think it is probable that any recession would have continuous job losses of 10 million per year, silly. Also what caused most of the job losses. Construction stopped so those people lost their jobs. They can't lose the same job every month the last time I looked. Also because of the scare of the financial markets there was a ton of inventory liquidation, which caused a lot of Temporary job losses. The liquidation had to stop at some point.

Tarp was put in place in 2008 under Bush. So that deficit hit is attributed to him. When the money was repaid by the large banks this was a positive to the budget under Obama. Facts are friendly.

It is not recovering people are still losing jobs. The economy has caused talk of an economic collapse. The recovery is so small no one can see it

Maybe it isn't it quite clear yet. The Party of No doesn't give a crap about who gets hurt, as long as they keep their boot on the neck of working Americans.

So, you think that insurance companies are criticizing the president by citing the legislation is a reason for rate hikes?

Ultimately, given that analysis has been done, I imagine that these rate hikes are similar to gas stations raising prices after a disaster for the purposes of profiteering.

Considering what a waste Afghanistan has been so far, that's a good thing. Bring them all home, we're just wasting money and lives on a nation that wants the Taliban anyhow.

Shut down the government so our veterans can't get the medical assistance they need after they've sacrificed themselves for the safety of our nation.

Maybe if they weren't off fighting pointless wars, they wouldn't need that medical assistance in the first place. I'm sure most of them would be more than happy to get their limbs back.

Shut down the government so no farm subsidies get paid out.

Maybe the farmers ought to actually grow and sell crops instead of being paid not to do anything.

Shut down the government so the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships won't be giving out any more taxpayer money to religious organizations.

Best idea I've heard all day.

Shut down the government so the FCC will no longer have the budget to censor television and radio programs for obscenities.

Followed by that one.

Shut down the government so law enforcement agencies won't have the manpower to kick squatters out of foreclosed home seized illegally by banks.

There's no such thing as a foreclosed home seized illegally. If it's foreclosed, then it's been legally seized. If it was illegally seized, it wasn't foreclosed.

Shut down the government so border patrol won't have the resources necessary to stop illegal immigrants from coming into our country.

Not that they do that now, except for show in front of the TV cameras. Obama has no interest in stopping the flood of illegals.

Shut down the government so our courts will have such a small budget that forces them to have such a small amount of time to operate that they won't have time to deal with petty drug crimes.

They hardly deal with any crimes now, how will this be any different?

Shut down the government so the defense contractors that get inflated no-bid contracts from politicians they give donations to won't get any more taxpayer money and take a hit in their stock value during an economic recession and have to fire their employees.

Wow, government employees having to deal with the same thing everyone else does? Imagine that!

Shut down the government so intelligence agencies won't have the resources or manpower necessary to stop the next terrorist attack being planned.

Maybe if we didn't run around the world pissing everyone else off, they wouldn't be attacking us. Nobody ever thinks of that one.

No the Administration is threatening them and taking away their free speech rights. More of do not criticize Obama or you will be punished.

First of all, in no place in the cited article are these businesses criticizing the current administration. They are attempting to raise rates and are citing the new law as one of the reasons for it. That is business justification, not criticism.

Second of all Kathleen is raising the possibility of regulation for unjustified rate hikes, which is something that is within the law. This is based on analytic models that do not show that these hikes are justified, not criticism.
