This is just friggin' insane. And this is a teacher? I mean really?

And before you summarily dismiss this as some anomaly never likely to be seen again, you may end up being very surprised. Look, I'm all in favor of freedom of expression and being who you are but when you want a front-facing job or one working with children, this is just a bridge too far. Should schools be forced to continue the employment of someone who decides to have swastikas tattooed all over their face.

There has to be a limit.

Has nothing to do with the teacher per se. It has to do with the idiotic WOKE response by the clueless district.

That teacher should have been told to dress appropriately or be subject to termination hearings.

Sorry, you don't get to parade around like a jackass when teaching children.

The teacher was dumb and the school board defending her was dumb. This = Wokeness? I look at your profile and think to myself "This is the kind of comparison some Rightie would come up with," not a liberal.

Unless, like Paradoxical, you believe anyone doing anything they want (no matter how stupid) is an example of Woke??

No, I think we have elevated the concept of "personal freedoms" to absurd levels that have little or nothing to do with reality. And that is the fuel that powers the very dangerous MAGA crowd.

Sorry, Sunday morning, I am not getting drawn into another one of your endless OFF TOPIC debates. THIS ONE is about a stupid teacher and a stupid school board, someone wants to make it about WOKE, let 'em, and if you want to go on some OFF TOPIC rant about babies and condoms, knock yourself out. I got better things to do.

Suggestion: Drop the outrage for one day and try to enjoy yourself for a change, sheesh!

However, it seems that the Halton District School Board is standing behind the transgender teacher at Oakville High. HDSB Chair Margo Shuttleworth told the Toronto Sun that protecting their employees' "gender rights" is "the stance the school board is taking and they are standing behind the teacher."

The transgender teacher reportedly previously identified as a man while working at the school as soon as a year ago, but now identifies as a woman. The school board claims the transgender teacher is "extremely effective," and Shuttleworth even claimed that "all the kids really love being in the class," according to the Toronto Sun.

I do not care how effective the teacher is this Particular expression is not appropriate for school.

One if the teacher was a biological woman with natural or artificially augmented breasts I seriously doubt they would be able to wear the same outfits without some repercussions
Two if another teacher who identified as male wore the same costume breasts to class they woul more than likely face some repercussions.
Three we do not and will not know for sure what any other teacher would face because no other teacher is trying to pull this bullshit stunt, mostly likely from fear of repercussions up to loose or a job, something this teacher does not appear to be facing.

What makes it woke is instead of the school board telling The teacher to either choose a more conservative and natural looking breast Set choice and continue to teach, or continue with the comically exaggerated breast choice at a different employer. It is possible to support the teacher on whatever gender choice they make, and also have a common set of standa all teacher must adhere to. IMO wearing huge fake tits hanging down to almost your knees is not an acceptable standard.
The school board has chosen to pretend this cry for attention is somehow a decision to be supported, and it is not. Not in the way this teacher has chosen. It’s woke because it is hard for any honest or rational person to conclude this particular teacher is receiving the same support and treatment a cis teacher would with a similar outfit choice.

I agree. I read an article by someone who went to a communist school at a very young age and was taught that real Communism wasn't here yet and is a work in progress but just wait until it was fully implemented.

Every so often you hear things like this that make things clear about so many related things and how the leaders control and indoctrinate us. In the case of Communism, Socialism, Marxism, Progressivism, and nearly everything that is left, this is what you will hear. I believe I alienate Christians when I say this because I am as conservative as they come and that being the case, I am supposed to be a "believer", but this is the tactic that Christians use, which is "Yes, we all need to sacrifice and suffer for others here in this life but your reward will be eternal bliss." and this is identical to the left saying "We all need to suffer now with high energy prices for the glory of going green and saving the world"

I am not outraged by things like this. I am saddened, even if it is a Sunday and football is on and I will relax in between working in the garden. Who does Tampa Bay play today?

You are 100% correct.

There was a time when I saw myself as a "Social Justice Warrior" of sorts...I mean who doesnt want a more equitable and just society....right? Of course the USAs racial past is repugnant, who doesnt want to right some wrongs if they can?

Then I started to see that the SJW "movement" was sort of laughably silly and counterproductive, for example when they tried everything in their power to hang a good cop Officer Wilson, and pushing that FALSE "Hands up dont shoot" nonsensical narrative. Trying to force people to call a teen boy "she" in school...because the kid "thinks" they're a female? The Democrats cant see how they shoot themselves in the foot with this constant NONSENSE. A grown man competing on a swimming team....with WOMEN? Because he says he's a female?

Time for a return to sanity folks! The USA has LOTS of disgusting problems that need attention badly, but overall is a fairly darned open and permissive society, depending on where you are. Hey, you'll probably be happier as a gay person in San Francisco, or any large city really, than you will be in rural Nebraska. READ THE ROOM. Dont try to affect too much "change" all at once, thats not how it happens.

Not quite that bad, but I hear you.

Woke is nothing more than a culture warrior badge of honor, designed to be an avenue for us vs. them even if the them is in the same political party or have similar takes on social and economic issues.

Like me. In the high 90% range of the issues for today’s liberalism I tend to align, social and economic issues especially I tend to agree. But those few percentage points of issues where I disagree makes me a literal enemy of woke modern liberalism, seemingly much to their delight. Then they turn around and complain when falling from rare bouts of power.

Perhaps the best evidence I can offer that being woke is nothing more than a self issued badge, a reason to delightfully and intentionally vilify those you failed to control (even if you need them on Election Day.)

As is so often the case, our friends on the left don’t quite get it. The problem is no what this individual has done. The problem is that the individual continues to be allowed to teach children.
 
BTW, I did see a claim on social media (so it must be true, right?) that there is more to this story, it’s not a case of him being trans, but that this man is actually in extreme drag as a form of protest. Supposedly he was disciplined last year for making comments that one might consider anti-woke and this is his revenge.

Doesn’t really change things, however. This man should not be teaching children no matter his motivation.

That is my daughter's high school! I am more than a bit shocked if this is true. I understand her right to dress as a woman and I support that but if those are the " breasts" she is wearing to school then it must not be permitted. The picture is not a current picture it is taken in early spring ( no foliage on the trees) so must be the last school year and it's on a street. She is a real butter!

I'm going to do some checking because I know the school, the neighbourhood and the types of families that live there and this would not go over well with parents. The parents in that neighbourhood have a lot of influence and I'm sure the School Board is getting nailed.
