Republicans are still discriminating against people who are struggling to put their lives back together after making a bad decision. Also 54% of Democrats want to give Undocumented Americans the right to vote, whereas the Republicans are blocking voting rights bills.

You know, Moderate71, I would admire the people making such arguments if they weren't utterly self-interested and had a measure of principles. For example, let us pretend that 80% of Hispanic immigrants both legal and illegal identified with the Republican Party and voted Republican. Do you think that under those circumstances, the Democrats would be calling for allowing illegal immigrants to vote? And if they voted in that manner, do you think the Republicans would work to stop them from going to the polls?

What's your opinion on Republicans opposing felons voting?

I wasn't asked but my opinion is if you give a felon back voting rights then the right to own a firearm should be restored.

Voter participation was UP in 2018; please show us all the "SUPPRESSED" LEGAL VOTERS....

If they’re really struggling to put their lives together, is being allowed to vote really going to be high on their list of priorities? If they want to do that, they need to be working to legitimise their legal status one way or another, which would bring the right to vote anyway (where ever they ended up living).

Also 54% of Democrats want to give Undocumented Americans the right to vote, whereas the Republicans are blocking voting rights bills.
54% of Democrats (or Republicans) can be wrong. Also, illegal immigrants voting and felons voting are two largely separate questions which can legitimately have two different answers.

When I said "Republicans are still discriminating against people who are struggling to put their lives back together after making a bad decision.", I was referring to felons.
