When I first saw the movie on PBS in 1986 I had never read the books. Had Nooooooo idea what to expect. At the time my young life (I was 15) was really not a good one. My mother had multiple sclerosis (MS) and was bed ridden. She couldnt even speak. She couldnt even close her eyes fully to sleep. My father was a somewhat abusive, manic depressed & bi-polar man. I had a visiting nurse come over daily from 8am till 3:30pm..... and around that I had to take care of my mother.... with bed sores among other things. I was in a not so good place.

Well I happened to rent Anne of Green Gables on a whim. It 100% floored me. I was taken away with the movie and the character. I literaly laughed and cried... and it quickly became my favorite move. I could relate the character. And in some sense fell in love with the character of Anne. Im almost 40... (but look 30 ;) ) and I still hold that movie close to my heart.

Recently Regis and Kathy Lee visited Prince Edward Island (P.E.I.) in Canadas far Eastern coast. I went there 10 years ago myself and it was a wonderful experience.

Annnnnnyhow.... here is the website that covers Regis & Kathy Lees visit to PEI:
