Unlike you, I was not bragging about my service, just stating the facts. I think that most of us if given the opportunity to join the Navy Seals we would jump at it, but you seem to have made a different choice or didn't measure up.

Democrats, Republicans, liberals, conservatives...they all manage to put their differences aside when they serve. To call a fellow American "the enemy" because they have different political views, is pretty ****ed up, IMO. Politics isn't that damned important.

You obviously are 100% clueless when it comes to military matters. It was not a matter of how many troops Trump drew down, 2500 was enough for what was left to do including getting Americans and Afghans who assisted us out. The Afghans were primarily doing the fighting for roughly 15 months with the ability to call in air support from the US base in Bagram. The issue was how much of a dumb shit Biden was in regards to the withdrawal. To start with, he did not consult out allies some of which still had troops and civilians in-country. And he should have made sure the vast majority of American and allied civilians were evacuated before drawing down that 2500. Biden had no clue about logistics and did not take the advise of top military officials. He extended the May deadline to withdraw troops to August 31 for the sake of a symbolic photo op moment in the lead up to the 20 year anniversary of 9/11/01 and then put almost no planning into it.

No actually it's not done until all US citizens are safely evacuated. Then there is the 82 billion dollars worth of high tech US military hardware and ammo that was left behind. And success largely depends on what happens in Afghanistan over the next one to three years. that will determine whether we end up going back or not.

I think you are quite confused in regards to which party the botched withdrawal has been catastrophic to. Haven't you been reading the opinion pols that you libruls so love to spout so much of the time. Biden has been and is still getting slammed by both sides of the political coin. As for your claim that conservatives are finished, if I had a dollar for every time I have heard a librul spout that over the last few decades, I could pay off my mortgage early. I think you are going to be very disappointed with the results of the 2022 midterms.

Amen! The hypocrisy is thick on the right, especially the new Trump Klan Party repugs. They have no love of country or their fellow man, they have no respect for the constitution, rule of law, etc.

They are okay with a deadly insurrection against our government and destruction of our democracy, as long as a traitor with an R next to him name is ruling the nation with the bible. That way they can discriminate against people of color, women and gays, suppress votes, break laws and further divide this country with unconstitutional laws like they want in Texas and other red states. A lot of them are old bastards who are desperate to make all their wet dreams come true before their time runs out.

The Taliban is preventing multiple flights from taking off from the northern Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif, CBS News reports.

An NGO in Afghanistan said two planes have been ready to evacuate 600 to 1,200 people, including 19 American citizens and two permanent residents, for the past six days while the U.S. government and Taliban continue to talk.
The White House and State Department have maintained that they hold leverage over the Taliban, which will ensure the group cooperates and continues to allow people to leave Afghanistan, but a senior congressional source told CBS News that the Taliban is basically holding the planes "hostage" so they can "get more out of the Americans."
Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Tex.), the ranking Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, agrees. He told Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday that he's concerned that U.S. envoy Zalmay Khalilzad will come away from the talks recommending that the Biden administration acknowledge the Taliban as the legitimate government in Afghanistan. There are no indications that will be the case, however.
