DEM VOW ALREADY BROKEN: HOUSE SETS 4-DAY WORK WEEK
Sun Jan 07 2007 15:03:38 ET

Democrats ran to expand the work week in the House to 5 days.

But guess how long that lasted?

Not even one week!
DRUDGE REPORT FLASH 2007®

This is absolutely hilarious :lamo First they break the promise about the 9/11 commission hearings, then about being inclusive and bi-partisian, and now this.

OK let's hear the excuse making.

Hill sources claim The House is taking Monday 'off' this week, because of the championship football game between Ohio State and the University of Florida.

And, of course, the following Monday is the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Seems simple enough for me. Looks like the 5 day week will be implemented soon, which is more then the GOP can say.

Yeah soon, let's drag out the 100 hours for a few weeks.

What a bunch of bullshit. So tell us Stinger what happens during the week of Januray 22nd when they work a 5 day week? And the week after that? And after that?

Are you so pathetically desperate to find something that you perceive the Democrats are doing wrong that you have to start a thread as inept as this one?

Hey Stinger, try again you just struck out on this one...oh, and BTW why don't you talk about the 109th Congress who worked less than any other Congress in the 20th or 21st Century? Ever hear of the 1948 "Do Nothing Congress? The 109th Congress met even less than they did....:rofl

Notice how well America responded to the 109th Do Even Less Than The 1948 Do Nothing Congress? Do the numbers 233-202 have any meaning to you?:2wave:

If I may comment briefly on the 5 day work week for Congress - for what they pay themselves, they ought to be working 8 days a week, if you ask me.

At least the Dems are moving in the right direction. Slowly but surely. I just hope they don't increase their own pay along the way...

Jesus ****ing Christ Stinger.

This is ridiculous, something like this belongs in the basement so it can be "appropriately" discussed.

Don't tell me Im going to have to hear this type of petty *** whining for the next 2 years from you and your kind.

After 6 years of the pettiness of the left.............you betcha.

They ran on this stuff, they pointed fingers at the right, now the tables have turned.

Why is it OK that they lied to you about the first 100 days and how hard they were going to work?

They said one thing and now it's another. Remember how they said they were going to come out of the box at fullspeed. How the left critized the Rep for the days they worked.

Well the chickens are coming back to roost. They break their promise over a football game.

Unbelievable.

So backing away from their promises is the right direction?

It was a phony complaint on their part when they made it an issue in the first place. Well now it's come back on them. I hope you leftest learn how phony they are next time they start spouting their nonsense.

Im finished with you as well.
The way you are falling into making every petty thing into a huge deal is placing you on the ignore list along with Jamesrage and Aquapub.

***I'm begging for you to put me on your ignore list as well. For it is obvious the Democrats have failed to live up to their own promises. What a joke this new congress is. The word 'inept' comes to mind among others.

PETTY? It was a huge promise them made while denigrating the Republican leadership. They tried to take the higher ground and here they are taking the day off for a football game. Do you know the colleges have to work the next day?

THEY brought up the subject of the work week. THEY made the promises. THEY are the one reneging.

And do we recall you taking the same attitude when THEY were bringing it up? Noooooooooooo.

It's hilarious.

Stop acting like Republicians don't lie.

That's the best you got? This has nothing to do with Republicans, the Dems are in power and this is about what THEY said and what THEY do.

So backing away from their promises is the right direction?
I do believe someone far before this post pointed out that by the end of the month, they'll be on their five day work week. So delaying on their promises instead of defaulting completely is progress, yes.

It was a phony complaint on their part when they made it an issue in the first place.
It's a serious issue to me, as a tax-payer who has to support their exorbinant pay. The fact that they aren't even working a standard work week at the same time of being paid massive sums is distressing to me.

Well now it's come back on them. I hope you leftest learn how phony they are next time they start spouting their nonsense.
Oh, I'm fully aware of how phony the Democrats are. They aren't the leftist party, they are simply further left than the neo-cons (which says, nothing basically).

How would they know. March Madness will be upon us soon, then the Stanly Cup, then of course Baseball season starts.

So delaying on their promises instead of defaulting completely is progress, yes.

:rofl oh it's a delay! The first 100 hours is now they first 200 hours.

It's a serious issue to me, as a tax-payer who has to support their exorbinant pay.

Then let's put a time clock in and make them punch in and out.

The fact that they aren't even working a standard work week at the same time of being paid massive sums is distressing to me.

Yes let's clock them in and out.

Let me be the first to apologize for the next 4 years on behalf of my conservative brethren.

Unfortunately, most conservatives could care less about the cause. They support the R only, not the ideas behind it.

This is the perfect case in point. As I understand it, liberals promised a 5 day work week as normal operating procedure. And I applaud them for it. Rolling up our sleeves and putting in real work should be commended.

I fail to see how missing today fails on that promise?

I don't know, let's ask him: 26 X World Champs, where did you get your information on that?

:rofl oh it's a delay! The first 100 hours is now they first 200 hours.
As opposed to the first 100 hours becoming never? I'll give them a hundred extra hours instead of having them do nothing.

Then let's put a time clock in and make them punch in and out.
...
Yes let's clock them in and out.
Agreed. And they can try surviving on minimum wage while they're at it. Maybe then it will kick them in the *** to give us a living wage as a minimum wage. Or they can always work more than one job.
Mr. Spoiled Congressman, can you say: "Do you want fries with that?" :2razz:

Only a truly partisan person could write a post like this one. The Congress has been in session for 3 days yet PTSDKID has already labeled them a failure! :rofl

Hey Kid....233-202...

I don't know, let's ask him: 26 X World Champs, where did you get your information on that?
It is insulting to even consider rebutting such nonsense. Some Republicans like Stinger are so depressed by the new Congress that they have a need to create a delusional world that makes them feel better about themselves. Being so desperate that it comes down to starting this ridiculous thread says it all.

Hey Kid....233-202...

*** three days in Congress? Lets see, they've already renaged on their promise to keep things partisan, and they didn't even mention anything dealing with the Iraqi war in their 100 first hours of accomplishments. Oh, excuse me, Nancy and Reid sent a letter to Bush promising not to further fund the augmentation of further American troops to Iraq. If that doesn't have the earmarks of total failure--I don't know what does. Meanwhile they'll concentrate on more important issues like destroying small businesses by raising the minimum wage.

Hey Champ, I'll live with the 233-202 discrepancy in the House, but can you live with my beloved Bosox humiliation of the Yankees in 2004? What curse of the Babe? And forget about next year--the Sox will be World Series champs once again.

I don't understand where the beef is. The GOP never tried to work 5 days a week. (They needed the extra day to meet with Abramoff.) The Dems will. Who's better on this front?

You have to go back to 2004? The current World Series champs, my Saint Louis Cardinals, are the real story now. ;)

The perfect case in point is that some reporter noted that the House was not in session five days a week when the Reps were in charge. The Dems saw political fodder for their campaign and jumped on it and people fell for it. A Congressman's work is more than just in the chamber listening to boring speeches and casting votes, they do lots of work outside of the chamber or "in session". So the Dems piously declared THEY would work FIVE days a week. It was baloney at the time and now we see they didn't mean it, it was all to fool the voters.

So they made their bed and now they have to sleep in it. And it is hilarious watching them back off it and people here try to defend baloney.

I'll give them 400 if they do nothing.

Maybe then it will kick them in the *** to give us a living wage as a minimum wage.

If you are relying on and hoping for congress to provide you a living wage you need to do some self-reassessment.

Is that "bi-partisan" boring?
