Ok, hear me out.
I've come up with a alternative for war, to lesson the amount of destruction and damage to the warring parties infrustructure and to save allot of money.
We can spend the money saved on " health care for illegals or whatever the libz are currently whining about.
Since we cannot seem to stifle our destructive instincts why don't we turn it over to powerful computers.
With each side possesing a computer that has the capabillity of launching hypothetical attacks and then calculating the lives lost post attack.
A treaty would have to be agreed upon, that mandates that the computers count, after an attack of dead personel, either millitary or civillian be accounted for by real victims.
So, if say Moscow launched an " attack " on Detroit or San Fransisco, ( I know wishful thinking ) our Computer would calculate probable dead.
Both ours and the Ruskiess computers would agree, and those individuals named as Casulties would have to report to " disintigration" chambers.
Same would apply for battlefields.
IF one country did not fulfill the count, ( observers would make sure people weren't skipping out on their civic duties) then normal conventional war would resume with REAL weapons as a violation of the treaty would state.
What would this save ? It would save us the cost of mobilizing massive amounts of ordinance and personel. It would save us the destruction of our infrastructure and the destruction of private property.
