Americans do not believe the USA could be the next Venezuela catastrophe. Wrong.

Not only is it possible. It's likely.

But if it makes you "feel good" to say it couldn't, then have at it.

https://pjmedia.com/trending/2016/08/13/why-couldnt-what-happened-in-venezuela-happen-here/?singlepage=true

Well.

Instead of telling us it is likely to happen, and then providing a link to an article from a Venezuelan expatriate who reflects on what happened under Hugo Chavez; you would do better to list why YOU think it is likely to happen to OUR nation.

Then ask us if we agree or disagree and explain why.

I can admit that anything is possible. But is a repeat of what happened in Venezuela likely to happen in the USA any time soon? Nope.

We have a different history, a different cultural outlook.

It would take some drastic changes in our society for us to reach the point a communist like Chavez could be elected President in the first place, much less gain enough support in Congress to turn this country into a mirror of Venezuela.

yes indeed.. we have a record low voter IQ's now and reaching another record each and every day

we may have hillary elected...

we now have PROOF that the whole system is rigged for the current status quo and the rich to STOP the voters

all these new changes suggests big changes coming.

Better put another layer on that tinfoil hat - it's leaking.

ONLY crooks wants to run in low IQ voters....are there any arguments with that?

are there any argument that 80 IQ voter is less wise than a 160 IQ voter?

wise people do not argue to waste time....they hit the main points and then get balanced... arguers are low logic people not able to see how they harm themselves spending their life humped over a computer trying to look wise

get to the main points and then get out for BALANCE

the misleading unemployment rate is to fool low iQ's on how bad the economy is

the food stamp drastically increased makes that unemployment rate to falsely go down...people are still unemployed but because of more money they do not look as hard so they are counted as NOT UNEMPLOYED which makes the rate fall.... OUTRAGEOUS corruption

what is going ON??? yep its all totally crooked to help keep the crooks in office and the current rich's money system in place and to do that they run in the lowest IQ voters as they can..

BUT in time this totally destroys

they are already caught with a system set to stop the voters.. with the buying off the delegates system by the rich to stop the voters....

the internet makes its money by more and more unwise also drugging out people to feed mental issues wasting time arguing... if people want to debate they should debate the number 1 issue how this system is totally rigged and how that will destroy the nation

Drastic changes are already taking place....clearly.
You need only wake up and look around. If you cannot see what is happening then you won't. Perhaps you feel this perversion of our system is a good thing. Unfortunately, you are not alone.
The politics explained in the article are taking place in our own political system today. I do not need to reiterate what has been so clearly and effectively communicated hundreds of times before.
It is there for those who see and those who care to see. We are in trouble as a nation. Rioting, Police brutality and a war on law enforcement. Presidents who act like kings and an IRS that punishes those who oppose political ideologies....to name a few. Our system has suffered significant damage. It was created and intended to have checks and balances. We are losing that.

What you and your crowd fails miserably to ascertain is the fact that you will not be immune to the hardships you cultivate and admire. Much like the Chavistas thought they were immune.
And in some respects many of them are as the government favors and feeds those who support it's corrupt ways. But if you and yours believe that is the way a fair and just society should be run, then be prepared to be on the receiving end of corruption as well.

Your entire response is a chain of rhetoric...full of sound and fury signifying nothing.

Minor similarities between occurrences in Venezuela and the USA do not equate to support for your position.

As I stated there are major differences in our culture, history, ideals, and social organization which makes it highly unlikely we are anywhere close to following the example of Venezuela.

Now YOU have posited this thesis, and it is up to YOU to support it. Trying to shift this burden onto those you would debate with does little to encourage people to respond.

the mother of all DRASTIC changes is how the media is pushing their money agenda with pushing for more muslims who are the womens very worst nightmare... if the women wake up then EVERYTHING TOTALLY CHANGES and now with the pushing of the muslims they very well may .. we will see
