It doesn't help that these days every seat is full.An airplane is a toxic psychological environment if you pick up on vibes like I do. Now that they are forcing everyone to be onsite again, work is getting like that, too. An airplane is worse vibes, though, because you can't put distance between you and the other people. When everyone around me is annoyed, upset, or scared, it drains the shit out of me. I think that I might Ativan myself next time. I don't like pills, though.
And the spacing in Economy is inhuman. It doesn't help that these days every seat is full.
We had an empty seat next to us on the way to Europe, but not on the way back. It did make a difference. I'm not a fan of the packed plane experience. It was much better in the 80s.It doesn't help that these days every seat is full.
On our last leg home from Europe (domestic flight) this week we got the same. It was a 2.5 hour flight but it made all the difference because jet lag was killing me, and at 6'3" I was able to stretch out and nap.We had an empty seat next to us on the way to Europe, but not on the way back. I'd probably do business class minimum from now on if I had the money. After my most recent flight, I made a declaration that I would do that, but it's too expensive. If I go back to Europe, which I would like to do at some point, it will probably be sardine class again. However, this time, I will have a kiddo sitting next to me, and we usually find something fun to do.On our last leg home from Europe (domestic flight) this week we got the same. Europe is definitely economy on my salary as well, but I'm finding business class affordable on domestic flights.I'd probably do business class minimum from now on if I had the money. They need to do something about these clowns. This guy should have a lifetime flying ban.
How is that ok?CBS News reports that a police source said the man was released without criminal charges.

My screen had flight info on it. When we hit 40k feet, I hit a different level of oh shit. When you're scared of climbing to the top of a ladder to paint the eaves of your garage, 40k feet can make your skin crawl. I would have made for a shitty astronaut.Would be really great for some up-and-coming software engineer to design a kind of small instrument panel with like an attitude indicator and stuff that reacts to what the bird is doing and the child could watch all that and receive sound instructions that explained what each of the instruments are for.
Might even be fun for adult type humans, too.
Could be that sort of device already exists?
How is that ok?
That guy started a load of inconveniences for other passengers, AA didn't accommodate said passengers and they let the guy go. I don't get it?
I picture you making it all the way to the moon refusing to look out the windows all the way.My screen had flight info on it. When we hit 40k feet, I hit a different level of oh shit. Of course I am still miffed at the fact that that very AA airline refused me a second cup of coffee about 30 years ago. I since forgot the why but I know they did.For some their sense of entitlement/self-importance preclude that option.

The lunar module lands, the hatch opens and Astronaut Helix is too chicken to take the 3 steps down the ladder.
Like that.
It would probably be like if someone forced me to skydive. Heart attack.I picture you making it all the way to the moon refusing to look out the windows all the way.

Being an astronaut is a lofty goal, pun intended. I can't do it. No Icarus here.
I don't even do well with roller coasters. I guess that it's just how I'm built. Now there, I agree. I had to do that jump tower exercise way back so many years ago and I sure didn't like that. I actually do not much care for high places, except good solid mountains. I don't even much care for solid buildings. Especially here in Japan, where the Earth might have a coughing fit and shake things up.
But, for some reason, I don't feel the same with choppers or fixed wing. That doesn't seem like being high. I guess it is the confidence factor. I know I can get the bird up and down with no problem. Or, at least, if a problem, I can let training kick in. I guess you'd not be too happy with any auto rotation training. In fact, I don't think civilian pilots are even allowed to do practice auto rotation all the way to the surface. I think they're supposed to pull up at 500 AGL.
