America was never great

The question is leading, so the answers can only be specious.

If the U.S. were to end, historians would not be arguing over whether or not America was great, but the pros and cons of its accomplishments.

I would say the U.S. is more nationalistic than other countries, which is why this question provokes such heated responses. Its people see it as a huge and important entity that is "one thing", regardless of which part of the country you hail from.

What about Germany?

no not germany? is it the whole holocaust thing? seems unfair since your excusing americas genocides, and over 400 years of slavery..... but alright.... what about new zealand?

Most of the American Indians were killed off and slaves brought over long before there was a United States. It doesn't excuse the garbage that happened later, but it's mitigating.

Germany is solely responsible for 50,000,000 deaths in less than 40 years. So, yeah, terrible choice.

NZ is nice.

What about..what is your point?

I think he is saying America was never great.
Yeah...the 1929 New York Yankees with Ruth and Gehrig weren't great, either, because there wasn't a premier base stealer on the team...

...or harping on their 44 losses and being shut-out once.
