The Guardian reported Monday
"More than 160 prison officers were involved in inflicting and covering up a regime of torture which saw savage beatings, death threats and sexual assault inflicted on inmates, a secret report reveals today.
The Guardian has learned full details of the Prison Service's report on a nine-year reign of terror at Wormwood Scrubs in west London. Many incidents which the Prison Service had publicly refused to admit are acknowledged in the reports, which remained confidential until now."
Really, I wonder why these reports were given to the public all of a sudden. I reckon it is not about the very Wormwood Scrubs prison but a desire of Washington to make people in the world forget about their own failures in Guantanamo Bay prison and Abu Ghraib. I'm sure it is beyond dispute that this information "leaked" to mass media through the agency of US intelligence with the only aim to make people take mind off abuse in American prisons for terrorist and turn attention to assaults in some British prisons. Huh no way, yankees! You WILL NOT get away with it! We still remember those dirty photos from Abu Ghraib prison and abuse and desecration of the Quran at the Guantanamo Bay prison. You still will have to pay for it!
