My brother cut his hand out in the ocean on a fish. It was a nasty marine infection and they couldn't figure out what it was. Anyway it was treated with a bunch of antibiotics and eventually looked better so they released him home. Well now the infection is starting to come out on other parts of his body and the hospital doesn't seem to have a freaking clue what it is or how to kill it.

If you could say prayers for my brother that would be great. They're testing him now for everything and anything and it like's a bad episode of house with no Hugh Laurie.

Anyway he need's some prayers and maybe ones from some stronger believers will work better than mine. Or maybe just tons of positive thought sent out to the universe will help.

I don't really believe in god so I won't pray for him, so I take option Nr. 2:

Thanks! He's just really frustrated because they don't know what the heck is going on. They tested him for all types of autoimmune disorders and he doesn't have any of them. No HIV or anything like that. So now they basically are just waiting while they try to grow cultures in the lab and try to identify what kind of marine bacteria is doing this. Looks like there's a good chance they'll keep him hospitalized over Christmas. Everyone who visits him has to wear a hazmat suit in case he's contagious. Pretty crazy but hopefully they'll figure it out soon.

I personally went thru something similiar... And after broad spectrum antibiotics got no better... Turns out it was a fungus and was treatable. I almost died... It was prayer I am fully persuaded that prevented me.
Not to scare... We have a large and highly faithful prayer group here. I will bring it up tomorrow... Although it is not necessary it helps for us to call him by name (first only)..?

As prayer and bible reading is part of my daily routine, I will include Art in the former. Please update us, and I hope he recovers to health, quickly.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone. Art is having hand surgery today to see if they can find any foreign body in his hand where the infection first started as well as debridement of the wound. I'll keep you posted. Hopefully they find something!

Hey - I dont really know you or your brother but I'll ask St. Barbara(or Chango in my religion - The 4th King of Oyo) and St. Lazarus(or Babalu Aye - Guardian of the sick) to watch over him and you. Que dios te vendiga mi amor y ojala que se cure tu hermano.

Art was released from the hospital this morning. They're still not entirely sure what exactly the infection was but they think everything is looking better and so the dr. was comfortabe letting him go off the IV antibiotics and take antibiotics pills at home. So he will be home for Christmas and as long as he continues to improve it looks like he's out of the woods! They also think he should eventually regain complete use of his hand! Thanks everyone so much for your thoughts and prayers it meant alot to me.

That's great news tallou. I'm happy not only for your brother, but for you and your family so you can enjoy Christmas together. It is the season to be thankful for what you've got after all. Sometimes it helps to be reminded the most important thing we have is each other. Merry Christmas!
