All the Adults Have Left the Room!

Rats and ships and all that...

I've heard of serving with distinction, but retiring with distinction? Something about the retirement is distinct?

Oh, not prison. Ok, that's true.

O-10 with time in grade...............no worries!

The Commander no longer believes in him, so he has to go.

Mattis is out in February via Tweet!

Its funny how the liberal narrative has changed. When Trump was appointing people like Mattis, the left were wringing their hands with dread that Trump was hiring too many generals. Now you guys wish they would stay. Hard to take you guys seriously

I’ll wait to see who is going to replace him, but I am concerned. I said before that Mattis, Kelly and McMaster were my tripwires to start worrying, with Mattis being the primary one.

Damn it, this is depressing.

I wonder if Mattis knew prior to the tweet.

He probably quit after Trump's stupid decision to surrender in Syria.

If your captain is leading your ship into an iceberg, you might as well jump... you probably have a better chance in surviving

On this forum even the libs largely supported Mattis’ nomination.

On MTP Daily, said the retirement letter was dated today...so yeah, Syria must have been the last straw.

No, I don’t want anyone to stay; let’s pull the scab off this crap-show and get to fixing what ails the country. I am not a fan of slowly boiling, you in are are you going to continue the partisan **** show?

We are learning from Trump he is very dovish. Unfortunately, his foreign military policy is very predictable for the enemy. I hate to say it but the U.S is very vulnerable to an attack and Trump is very unprepared to handle it.

So diabolically clever...

In y'alls dreams perhaps. I really don't know where you folks find the time in between scratching your heads then your butt cracks to think and type all this pizzle up... someone needs to make a documentary on how, when and where just such mental atrophy starts... and how to curtail if not cure it. Need to start as youths I would suppose.

As they say, a mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Just saw his letter, I take back my question. Yikes.

All the trip-wires have gone off; now you have to keep an ear out for the Budweiser cans rattling in the concertina.........shhh..

Yeah. Back then, we were thinking this is a normal administration. Now we are just happy to have at least one person who was semi-sane and with some experience in the area they are running, who is not hell bent on blowing up that place. Looks like even that little ray of hope is being shut in our face. When you guys were talking about blowing up DC, you weren't kidding!

When this circus leaves town, there is going to be one helluva clean up job which will be left to do. It took us about 8 years to recover from W's mess, both domestically, geopolitically, and economically. I can't even imagine how long this royal train wreck is going to take to clean up. In terms of international relations and reputation, I am pretty sure the damage is irreparable and the ship is sunk for good. The economy? I don't know how much more of this it can take and still stay afloat.

Actually, Mattis was one of the few people not too many liberals had a problem with. But please, don't let that stop you from spouting off your usual "BLARGH LIBERALS" garbage. It's what you do.

Let us know when Trump supporters get one in the first place. You can call us when they are not telling us that the Earth is only 6000 years old, that don't spend 6 years enthralled by a casino owner telling them they aren't going to believe what his top people are finding on Obama's secret Kenyan birth certificate, that Russia did not interfere in the 2016 elections, and that the unanimous consensus of every single scientific organization on the planet on climate change is just a Chinese hoax.

Even those who did not are entitled to complain about the loss of qualified personnel. It's two different subjects. His victim cry of hypocrisy is total BS in multiple ways. How do people not always reply to that claim with, "holy **** that's stupid". I would. What's the loss? You see the product.

That took an awful lot of words to type absolutely nothing worth reading.

Mattis, yes. But I still recall the hand-wringing about all the generals Trump was surrounding himself with.

Every political appointee, nomination, affiliation, brief acquaintance or mention results in hand wringing by the other side. And everyone ends their time in service. So are you gonna do this every time?
