Looks like there is only one highly competitive race for governor this year: Montana.

Democrats are trying to win the governorship for the fifth straight time: Gov. Steve Bullock is term-limited after winning two close elections in 2012 and 2016.

Bullock's lieutenant governor, Mike Cooney, is the Democratic nominee. The Republican nominee is Montana at-large congressman Greg Gianforte, who became a controversial figure for body slamming a reporter the day of a 2017 special election.

All the other races look pretty well decided already.

Maybe people are just not following governor races because there are less than 15. Have you actually seen any websites that show Montana is the only state with a close contest?

A lot of states don't have too much money on ads for Gubernatorial elections though.
