On the surface this does not look to be some malicious act on the part of her campaign, but at the same time someone who claims to champion the worker made a real mistake not completing this "basic stuff" of ensuring Workers Comp coverage.

Not wise on the part of her campaign and it will be difficult for Alexandria to spin this.

Disappointing, but no need for additional investigations. It is unlikely this fine will open the doors up to much else.

Like many brand-new employers, I will give her the benefit of the doubt in that I am sure she was not fully aware of the responsibilities that were placed upon her.

That is the elementary bumper-sticker thinking conversation.

The bigger conversation is the hypocrisy of campaigning on the idea of worker's rights (among others) only to find her campaign was careless at best in taking care of her own. It is highly unlikely that Alexandria herself made some sinister choice to prevent her campaign team from acquiring Workers Comp coverage, and that is explained well by such a small fine.

My issue with her remains unchanged, you cannot champion the worker and make these mistakes.

Now I think it particular event is minor, but that is generally how hypocrisy starts. Aristocracy tends to grow the longer someone is up on that hill yelling at everyone else for doing something wrong.
