Might be a virus or two, too. Same with the melting permafrost. And cutting down the Amazon forest, exposing stuff to sunlight that's been in the shadows for centuries. What I always think of is, what buried evidence of long lost peoples will we discover when the glaciers melt? It's been in the deep freeze a long time. Could be good stuff!

A little too much sci fi?Might be a virus or two, too. Same with the melting permafrost. And cutting down the Amazon forest, exposing stuff to sunlight that's been in the shadows for centuries.
And here is how deniers react: Glitch is living in these results of AGW, and yet continues to deny it. As with most every denier, he puts his personal (wrong) opinions over than of the scientific data and effects. It would be amazing if it wasn’t so absolutely pathetic.
Glitch could be legitimately pleased that his freezing cold home state is a little less freezing cold now. I wouldn't consider that hypocritical, though it would be callous.
He is a climate change denier. All he ever does is repeats the standard denier talking points, never anything original.
Some Alaskan glaciers are 30,000 years old.A little too much sci fi?
Years ago, there was a show on cable about jewel miners in newly uncovered areas of Greenland. Or was it Iceland? Anyway, it got me thinking. They say most of Alaska's glaciers are only 4,000 years old, tops.

I read that about one. But they now believe people may have been arriving since before then. Never mind. It was just a thought. Some Alaskan glaciers are 30,000 years old.

Lol. So pretty much calling him out. If you were my son, I'd tell you to put down the latte, man up and let him know. It’s a generalized thread as to why and how the deniers can completely overlook all of the evidence for global warming/climate change even when it is all around them and right in front of their eyes. Glitch just happens to be a prime example.
In the Italian Alps, retreating ice packs are revealing the bodies of climbers lost 30-40+ years ago. A bit more grisly than lost peoples,What I always think of is, what buried evidence of long lost peoples will we discover when the glaciers melt? It's been in the deep freeze a long time. Oh, yuck. I mean, I suppose to the families it's good, but being the person to stumble upon one must be pretty unnerving. In the Italian Alps, retreating ice packs are revealing the bodies of climbers lost 30-40+ years ago. A bit more grisly than lost peoples,
The first reports that I read were about sightings of bodies of climbers who had fallen and landed in crevasses. Rescuers were able to make identification through contents of wallets. I was struck at the time by the number of Germans who had died trekking and climbing in the Italian Alps.Oh, yuck. Lots of methane and CO2 coming out of that thawing permafrost and out of the ocean mud off of the coast.Report: Alaska warming twice as fast as global average

Of course, I'm picturing The Sound of Music and Heidi, which is all I know about it. LOLNot immediate neighbours, but maybe it's cheaper to climb and ski in Italy.

I’m well acquainted with the geography of Western Europe. So why all German tourists and no French or Swiss or Austrian? They're neighbors.

Well, excuse me. It didn't seem like such a leap that they might be there. Like me going to Quebec.I’m well acquainted with the geography of Western Europe. So why all German tourists and no French or Swiss or Austrian?
