"Asked Friday on “Fox & Friends” how Americans can “come back together” to “fix this country” after the fatal shooting in Utah on Wednesday that conservatives have blamed on Democrats and the media, Trump appeared wholly disinterested in any semblance of reconciliation.
“I’ll tell you something that’s going to get me in trouble, but I couldn’t care less,” he said.
The president appeared to acknowledge that there are “radicals” on both sides of the political spectrum, only to excuse the conservatives among them for having valid concerns about crime and the border.
“The radicals on the left are the problem,” Trump continued Thursday. “And they’re vicious, and they’re horrible and they’re politically savvy — although they want men in women’s sports, they want transgender for everyone, they want open borders.”
