RICHARD TRUMKA, PRESIDENT AFL-CIO: The Affordable Care Act does need some modifications to it, because as it does right now, what's happening is, you have employers that the law says if you pay your, if your employees work 30 hours or more a week, you've got to give them healthcare. So they're restructuring their workforce to give workers 29 and a half hours so they don't have to provide them healthcare. They’re also doing some taxing to nonprofit plans to pay for for-profit plans.

Well ya... What do you think "conspiracy theorists" have been saying since Obama passed Romney care. (names chosen to highlight the common agenda)??

With companies cutting hours they'll have to hire more people. Thus the overall employment rate will eventually increase.

Just how large of a threat is this supposed to be? According to this survey not many fall into that category in the first place and show no signs of increasing in response to the new law.

Remember all the clamor about business shutting down or firing employees because of the ACA and then retracting when confronted? (Papa John's is one I remember off hand)

An analysis of data from the Current Population Survey shows that only a small number (0.6 percent of the workforce) of workers report working just below the 30 hour cutoff in the range of 26 - 29 hours per week. Furthermore, the number of workers who fall in this category was actually lower in 2013 than in 2012, the year before the sanctions would have applied. This suggests that employers do not appear to be changing hours in large numbers in response to the sanctions in the ACA.

Ya, where you gotta have 2-3 part time jobs to sustain any reasonable quality of life. Unless you are a priority employee that gets to maintain full time status.

Get me a list of those businesses so I can avoid those who despise their employees so much.
