The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has confirmed the death of a military adviser with the rank of Major General Vyacheslav Gladkikh in Syria.

Official statement from the military department confirms previously published information “Russian Spring” about the explosion, which caused death.

As specified in the Ministry of Defense, an improvised explosive device went off today, August 18, when the Russian convoy was returning after a humanitarian action, 15 km from the city of Deir ez-Zor.

It was located on the side of the road in the direction of traffic.

“As a result of the explosion, three Russian servicemen were injured. During the evacuation and the provision of medical assistance, a Russian senior military adviser with the rank of major general died from the received serious wounds, ”the military department said.
