Afghanistan: It’s Only Getting Worse

Everywhere Obama is jacking up the pressure [to help Hillary's campaign] on ISIS, etc. is getting worse.

It should be the international community making peace in Afghanistan. There can be no doubt about it. A pity that Obama has not gone that route and shifted responsibility to protect to the UN.
 
Afghanistan is like many countries - Mexico comes to mind - where a ruling elite run it, yet the countryside is back in the 1800's or farther and the people trust the systems that have sustained them for generations.

You can send every Afghani ruler to Switzerland to stash a billion US dollars for the next one hundred years, and nothing will change.

We are trained here in the USA to think everyone wants a better life.

The whole Middle East has turned into Vietnam, so we have apparently learned nothing from our mistake then. Politics are only massaging the problem.
