If there’s still anyone left who thinks Obamacare, otherwise known as the “Affordable Care Act”, is “affordable” or has one damn thing to do with “care”, please read this Facebook post which was originally posted on the “Healthcare.gov“ Facebook timeline at some point over the past couple of days. (I can not locate the original post or I would link to it. The administrators at the Healthcare.gov Facebook page may have removed the post or the poster may have even removed their own post. Others may have the link to this original post. I do not. I did find this link from the “Open Your Eyes People” Facebook page, however. That post, from that page, has been shared 2,453 times as of right now. 2:30AM CST 10-3-13 – that post was made on Facebook on 12:55AM on 10-2-13.)

Here’s the quote directly from the Facebook post by “Will Sheehan” as it appears in the picture below:

I actually made it through this morning at 8:00 A.M. I have a preexisting condition (Type 1 Diabetes) and my income base was 45K-55K annually I chose tier 2 “Silver Plan” and my monthly premiums came out to $597.00 with $13,988 yearly deductible!!! There is NO POSSIBLE way that I can afford this so I “opt-out” and chose to continue along with no insurance. I received an email tonight at 5:00P.M. informing me that my fine would be $4,037 and could be attached to my yearly income tax return. Then you make it to the “REPERCUSSIONS PORTION” for “non-payment” of yearly fine. First, your drivers license will be suspended until paid, and if you go 24 consecutive months with “Non-Payment” and you happen to be a home owner, you will have a federal tax lien placed on your home. You can agree to give your bank information so that they can easy “Automatically withdraw” your “penalties” weekly, bi-weekly or monthly! This by no means is “Free” or even “Affordable.”​

Your source claims a deducatable that is illegal that cannot be offered through the exchange. Max deducatable for insurance through the exchange is 12.7k, your source claimed 13.988k, so right off the bat you know he is lying. To get a fine which he listed he would have to be making over 400k a year, which is the second flat out lie. Silver or bronze is irrelevant, you bought into a made up story because you could not be bothered to google.

Tom Waschura of Portola Valley, is a father of two. He is an Obama supporter and was an Obamacare supporter. Waschura will now have to cough up almost $10,000 more for insurance for his family of four under the Affordable Care Act. That's according to his calculations and those of the reporters of the San Jose Mercury. There are others out there who are now faced with sticker shock too.
I'm waiting to see more tragic stories like this coming to light in the near future.
