Pretty sure if Tucker returns in two weeks, his show will have one big infomercial for My Pillow and Condoms. Which is actually pretty fitting.


“This seems different because it’s so stark, but the advertisers on his show are pretty much all gone,” says Matt Rivitz, an advertising industry professional and cofounder of the group Sleeping Giants. Originally formed to advocate advertiser boycotts of Breitbart News, the group called for a Tucker Carlson boycott in September 2018.

Pressure is now focused on a few big names that continue as sponsors, such as Nestlé and financial services company USAA.

Yeah that's how you support freedom of expression, organize a suppression effort to "demonetize" them by threatening sponsors. That way only shows and news reports you agree with will report only what you want to hear.

Seems strange to me, when apparently only other "racist, sexist, etc-ists" are watching, and yet those who don't watch themselves still feel a need to try to shut them down.

What am I thinking?! Of course those people who can't deal with criticism, disagreement, and opinions that differ from their own are going to do anything and everything they can to insure "group-think" remains tightly under their control.

Freedom of expression only means the right to express agreeable things, and one must make sure to keep up on the new terminology lest one risk offense.

Shades of George Orwell, I can't wait to see how the inevitable Ministry of Truth works in our future glorious socialist utopia. :coffeepap:

why does protesting seem strange to you? You're pretty much saying we should just nod our heads and not do anything when this guy says openly racist stuff on TV. Sorry, That's not how America works. We kinda love protesting stuff, ya know...

Freedom of expression does not include the platform to express it.

Fox is not going to give me a show on their channel, they are oppressing my freedom of speech right?

The connection to White Supremacy and Trump is phony. You know it, the democrats know it, and so does the media. But as long as they are at war with the truth, it stands to reason the next battle will be over free speech.

How many White Supremacists are there? Every white guy at a Trump rally is counted as one, as is every dude in a wife beater and a muddy Ford, as well as some in breed in a mullet.

What is left to talk about? The economy? China? Blacks and Latinos moving to Republicans? Indictments coming in September for trials just before the elections. Your rathole blue states having the brights lights of truth shown on them.

Weren't you righties trashing your coffee makers a few months ago? As I remember, you were all hot and bothered because Kuerig didn't like your hero, Sean Hannity. Kuerig was pulling their ads and you guys decided you had a right to tell them who to give thier money to. So there you were trashing your expensive small appliances. So mature!

It's not you - not you at all. You are irrelevant. It is the richest and most powerful men and corporations on earth - that by your messages you worship. Do you maybe have a prayer closet for daily worship of Jeff Bezo and Bill Gates? Which one is the greater god?

Do you REALLY think the corporations pulling their ads care about you? If you tried to go to the door of any home any of their leadership live at, their personal security team - heavily armed team - would have you thrown to the ground and then you hauled off to jail for trespassing. Of course you would have to get past their wall and outer security force first in their walled little city of the super rich. Merely having your car in their driveway would be an unacceptable embarrassment to them. None will ever be willing to listen to or talk to you. To the extent you anything but dirt under their feet, they despise you.

You are not the protester. You are one of their chickens - with their beaks chopped off so they don't hurt each other (like you want to disarm all of us peasants for the same claim like the super rich absolutely want) - born on the death conveyor belt, one of the cattle being driven thru dividing fencing, just an annoyance to them. Yes, the Democratic Party insists that "International corporations are people."

Actually, "corporations are inventions of the state (government)" to be controlled and regulated however the government wants to and the trade-off to being personally exempt for any and all debts and wrongful actions of your company. You would want personal private entrepreneur rights, you have to be a personal private business - sole proprietorship or partnership - for which you or each of you are personally liable for debts, legal liabilities, laws and taxes.

Lessee: Mexicans are sending rapists, immigrants are like poisonous snakes, total Muslim ban proposed, migrants are infesting us, guy mentions Trump themes before killing people in El Paso. What rational human being could connect Trump to white nationalists? Tucker is right. They dont exist, and I’m going on vacation.
 
When the Dixie Chicks were boycotted by the cons I don't remember much of a defense. Apparently conservative bakers get to boycott who they serve but those on the left can't boycott right wing nut talking heads as it will lead to Armageddon. Go figure.

I wouldn't buy a 'My Pillow' from that Mike Lindell if it cost a dollar. It's great that Mike Lindell went from being a crack addict to a self-made millionaire (who had weathered a string of lawsuits, layoffs and an F-rating from the Better Business Bureau) and I give him credit for that. But, he's a racist and when I see a man displaying a gold cross of Jesus around his neck then talks trash about Ilhan Omar or immigrants, I see a hypocrite. Mike Lindell is one of many within the church who are hypocrites, people who claim to be Christians but who are, in fact, unbelievers attempting to convince others (and perhaps themselves) that they are followers of Jesus Christ. I wish all Bible-thumpers could understand that hypocrisy is an ugly sin and one that God despises.

First of all, you dont watch the show, you just want to silence the voices you dont like. Sounds kind of fascist if you ask me. So if you are all about silencing fascists, perhaps you should log off. But go ahead and, in your own words, tell me what 'openly racist stuff' Tucker has said on TV.

Well it sort of works out that way in the end anyway. Look at what happened with Bill O'Reilly. People said "oh Fox will never get rid of Bill O'Reilly!" But when it comes to money, the Murdoch family wants to make more, not lose any and advertisers fleeing means one thing, less revenue. So when it came to O'Reilly or keep advertisers happy, it was 'adios' O'Reilly. Fox will put up with a lot (obviously), even multiple sexual lawsuits but when it comes to losing advertisers, they won't stand for it for long.

The only way to move or shake up something ugly on TV is to stop watching and boycotting the advertisers. People don't have a voice in the matter so they use the power of the purse-strings to get their point made. There's only one thing that matters in the end for any network, it's ratings and revenue.
