Since the left likes the idea of reparations, let's add a few million more to the list.
Northerners, of both political parties and any race or creed or belief or sex that was conscripted into service during the civil war to fight to help give freedom to the slaves and then lost their lives in that fight. This causing them irreparable harm and harm for centuries to their descendants. Ruination of family farms, businesses, as a result of their deaths that left their families poor and destitute.
Southerners of both political parties who fought on the side of the Union and then lost their lives, (same as above) or were maimed or their families suffered for generation from the lost of their fathers, or other breadwinners.
Southerners who fought for the Confederacy and as a result of the criminal acts committed by the Union Army, (Shermans total war in his march to the sea) lost their lives, homes, farms, businesses. Woman who were raped by Union stragglers behind Sherman's army and caused generational oppression from mental health problems due to trauma.
Aren't all these folks due reparations from a government who caused so much destruction, loss of live and mental aguish fighting a brutally offensive war against civilians across the South and forcing northern men into service whether they wished to participate or were in favor of the cause or not?

Then you can add those men who were also forced to go to war in WWI and WWII for the same types of reasons and left their families without support and little chance of a future for generations.
