I agree. I argue that forbidding certain visual stimulation, (like random parts of our bodies,) sparks an inordinate amount of desire to see those parts in our minds. It's not because those parts are inherently more sexually appealing than others, it's because we've artificially inflated their appeal by hiding them.

Most of the men who ran/run things don't find themselves sexually "moved" at the sight of another man's body; however, most women are. In the quest to boost any given man's odds of attracting women, men were allowed to expose their bodies. In the quest to reduce the likelihood that any given man would be sexually "moved" by the sight of any specific man's wife, women have been discouraged from being quite as revealing as men have the "nihil obstat" to be.


As for the specific standard whereby a woman's nipples cannot be exposed, but a man's can, well, that's just flat out ridiculous. There's no rational explanation I can even so much as conjure, let alone attempt to support, for that dictum. Irrational as the standard is, I don't care to which one society ascribes so long as it's the same one for both sexes.

I mean, really:

• Do images of woman whose sole torso adornment are pasties strike you as the woman being in a materially differently degree of undress than would be that same woman equally scantily clad, but sans pasties?
