… is violated by federal government overreach in things like sending federal troops on home soil, the inflating the ranks of a federal law enforcement agency(ies) with absolutely wide open - no DISCERNING as to qualifications - smacking of “brown shirts”, corporatist policy that supports cartel and monopolistic business behavior, expansion of executive power - usurping that of the other two branches of government…

These, among others bits we are witnessing of the Trump administration is NOT TRUE CONSERVATIVE politics. It’s something else.

It is autocratic governing and I’m afraid to state approaching fascist acts.

If one truly desires a continuation of a Constitutional Republic than this stuff has to stop.
 
It's true. We no longer have representation. We do have new taxation.

We are back to taxation without representation.

We must begin the work to eventually pass the American Anti Corruption Act.

The work of the founders was vital in forming this country. They did what they could while they had the chance.

Ben Franklin wondered if we could keep our freedom. Now it is our turn to continue the work of the founders. The responsibility falls upon us. We, The People.

Our nation screams at us to get the big money corruption out of government. How loud does it have to get?

The money in our politics is as corruptive to government as free roaming glucose molecules in the blood stream. The damage done to the “circulation” of ethical governing is as the corrosion to the arteries, veins and nerves of the body of diabetes.

Free roaming money with an agenda is the diabetes of good government.

There are basically zero Republican policies that have majority support in America. They want to force them through anyways, and will destroy democracy to do it, rather than change their policies to be more popular.

Yeah, it is almost as if the conservative politicians, commentators and thought leaders who have nearly all gone over to supporting Donald Trump were lying to us all along. Sort of like the slavery advocates who argued that owning slaves was a humanitarian practice and for the benefit of the slaves more than anyone else.

Yeah, I stopped swallowing that a couple years back. I only feel shame for how long I was a conservative Republican and let myself swallow and regurgitate the unending bilge.
 
Nonsense. The nation voted Trump into office. He won the electoral vote and the popular vote and more importantly he told the voters what he intended to do. They voted for him because of that. The people leading the left are bat shit crazy and haven't a clue as to how to get the democrat party back to normalcy. They've been crazy for far too long and now crazy seems to be their normal.

My point is two fold: This needs to stop. It’s NOT actually conservatism.

Actual conservative ideology wouldn’t have room for “Trumpism”.

What does that have to do with either of the points I am making?

He won the election.

He is NOT a Conservative, nor is any of his MAGA supporters. They have no idea of what actual Conservative ideology is. Trumpism and conservatism are incompatible notions.

Trumpism is compatible with autocracy with a side of fascism.

That is so true. Democrats are a Conservative Party. And that is a bad thing. The Democrats are doing everything in their power to maintain an unjust status quo while the Republicans steal the furniture and tear through the walls to get at the copper wiring. The only people the Democrats attack with any regularity are progressive and leftist politicians seeking to make the lot of American working families better, rather than advocating on behalf of super-PAC donors like ALEC and AIPAC.


I do not think it is cowardice. I think most of them wanted this all along. They probably just hoped they could hide a dictatorship behind a wall of legal niceties rather than having to resort to a naked autogolpe.

There is not conservative vs liberal or progressive anymore. We've now simplified it non-woke vs woke.

MAGA is not conservative. It's whatever Trump wants it to be day by day. The party of free trade is now the part of protectionism and trade barriers.

The only thing that the republican party of today is the same in is the willingness to cut taxes for wealthy people, pro gun, anti-abortion and closed borders.
