ACTION ALERT: Tell the FCC to Protect Freedom to Text

Here is a link where you can go to send a message to the FCC that you want text messages to be treated the same as phone calls. At the present time, T-Mobile is censoring text messages that they decide are coming from unsavory political groups. T-Mobile is also disconnecting calls to medical marijuana dispensaries in California. These businesses are completely legal under California law. Now some of you might disagree with that statement, but whether you do or not, it is not the business of T-Mobile to interpret the law, and act according to that interpretation. That is the business of the police and the courts.

Send the FCC a message that T-Mobile's practice is unacceptable. Better yet, pick a different provider, and let the market show what you think.

Picking a different provider is the proper route. If T-Mobile wants to join the political fray I say let them. Dont use the government to strongarm them, take your business else wear and let the market decide.

Big Gov't Dan rides to the rescue!

Chevy is 100% correct in that if you don't like what T-Mobile is doing... DROP THEM. There are plenty of carriers. This is not why Gov't exists, this isn't something the FCC need be involved with.

Send a message to T-Mobile, not the FCC.

This is an issue of a private company providing a service to it's customers and it's customers having the choice to stay with them or not. But it's not a shock to see you calling for the Gov't to solve this problem...

Phone companies are bound by common carrier agreements. In return for agreeing not to monkey around with the messages on their networks, they avoid criminal liability for crimes committed using their services. If t-mobile is willing to accept the burden of being legally responsible for every crime committed using one their phones, they are more than welcome to continue this behavior. In reality, they will take their usual course of "the government can't interfere with business, unless of course it benefits our bottom line" and hope nobody notices the laughable hypocrisy.

By the way to further add as a nerd, a gamer, a retail manager, an electronics guy and as a person who hates 95% of people that I come into contact with that the Fascist Commissar Commission should be disbanded its board force to fight bears.
