''Since the days after World War II when people accused as Nazi criminals awaited their fates in the grimness of Nuremberg Prison, reformers have dramatically reshaped the standards under which suspects accused of the vilest war crimes are being held. ''

Should prisons holding prisoners these days, who did vile things such as murder, rape, torture... be made more dismal? If so, describe what the prisons they should be held in would be like in your opinion.

i know a song that sums it up, it goes something like this "four walls, wash basin, prison bed"

That depends on whether you and or Society holds the view that a person is innocent until proven to be guilty.
Within the times that the Nuremburg Prisoners were being held and were on trial accused of a variety of crimes before and during WW11, the conditions within their holding cells, while not luxurious was of an standard greater than the conditions under which their victims were held.

Do you think they should be move to more grim accomodation, if they are found guilty?

And I thought our prisons were nothing more than San Franciscan Universities on the rough side of town. If they are being held in jail until trial then they should actually be a jail not a dormitory. Especially if they are make this count towards what ever sentence they receive.

Yes, most definitely and if the ambient average summer time temperature is uncomfortable there A/C should not be provided.
