  • 80% of states receive more in federal funding than they contribute.
  • Of the states which receive more than they contribute 70% of them are Republican.
  • Of the states which contribute more than they receive, 80% are Democratic.
  • Kentucky, home of Mitch McConnell receives almost 2 1/2 times more money from the government than its citizens pay in.

Red States are using the bullshit set up of the U.S. Senate to flat out steal from liberals. Without liberals, the roads, bridges, and tunnels of Republican states would crumble.
Hell, most of the South still wouldn't have indoor plumbing or electricity if FDR didn't create the TVA to do it for them.
If the people of California, New York, New Jersey, Mass, Conn, and Illinois are the ones paying most of the taxes they do not deserve to have some piece of shit from Kentucky taking it all for his shithole state.

I would leave it in place but reduce its obstruction ability. In Canada a law passes after 3rd vote even if the Senate tries to block it.

We have something similar in the UK.
The House of Parliament writes a law and sends it to The House of Commons who can amend it and send it back but in drastic cases, the Parliament can vote for a law 3 times and force it through without Commons consent. The UK also doesn't have anything like a filibuster to slow the process.

No other Parliamentary House on the planet allows the minority to block the majority indefinitely. Only the US Senate.

Read the writings of Jefferson and Madison. The Articles of Confederation taught them all a lesson about minority tyranny.

Today's Senate is nothing like what the founders envisioned and created. The current Rule 22 is the work of Sam Rayburn, Strom Thurmond, and LBJ.

Now all the sudden redistribution is bad?

You realize that you are the one contradicting yourself right?
You shouldn't assume anybody that points things like this out is automatically on the opposing side of the issue.

My position has been pretty consistent taxation is theft.

Ha!

Shows what they really want....to control...
If you take it to the side who gets stolen from and who gets rewarded then it's great. It's done in a way that helps out their political rivals then it's evil.

This is just simply lack of personal awareness.

A position that is ****ing stupid is not improved by consistency.
So you were mistaken about me contradicting myself then?

You should think before you post.

I don't think my position is stupid you have all the right to think whatever you want if your thoughts matter to me I probably wouldn't post here.

It's historical ignorance. Assumption was put into place to allow the Federal government to have a measure of control over States and their State Legislatures.

Now, this one wants to take away their right to representation at the Federal level as well. Not realizing that when we expand the sentiment -- those who pay get a larger say, and those that take don't get a stake, well then what is to befall all of their fellow lefties when they stretch out their necks reaching for the government teet? The Golden Rule, those with the gold make the rule.. I don't think they'd like that too much.

Excellent point

If you're voting for those who would maintain this system then you are most definitely contradicting yourself, and if you're a conservative from Texas then rational thought is definitely not in your arsenal.
I don't think my position is stupid
Stupid people never do. That's what makes them stupid.
you have all the right to think whatever you want
Taxes are no different than the membership dues you pay to an HOA or for membership to any club you join. If you think they're too high then you can go find another club or country to join.

but I'm not contradicting myself I'm contradicting a party which makes sense because I'm an individual.

Sometimes when you vote often times when you vote you have to take the good with the bad if it's a contradiction then you probably should never vote for anything.

telling people stupid for not agreeing with you is a rather banal tactic quite immature as well.

There would be something wrong if you didn't rage and throw a little fit about statements I made. Truth is the mother of all hatred.

Texas to the HOA is theft. I don't have a choice in that I do have a choice on whether I remember to have a club or not so that's not comparable you need to think before you post
If you think they're too high then you can go find another club or country to join.
I don't have to be part of any club they don't send people then to kidnap me and steal my property. If I could opt out of paying taxes then that would be a comparison.

Texas are more like pain protection money to the mob if you don't pay it then they will come and steal from you and attack you.

It would be a crime if anyone else tried to live Taxes on you.

I'm sorry you're understanding of this topic is pathetically underwhelming but my position is well thought out and it's probably your lack of ability to understand this it causes you to say everyone that disagrees with you is a dumb dumb.

It indicates that I am correct. If you hate me for what I say then I'm right.

Abolish the Senate, increase the House to have each member represent at most 300k people, abolish the EC, turn us into a democracy. Ain't gonna happen but one can dream.

You don't have to drink direct democracy already exists in other countries and just move there. If you want that here this clearly isn't the country for you considering it is a constitutional republic.

South Carolina is a red state. Don't like it? Move to China.

Exactly. Go find another state, if your kind of government is adopted, Charleston won't be worth shit. Why is it that rich people want to be communists?

The old America love it or leave it post. Got to love these deep thinkers, lets put them in charge of our constitutional convention. What could go wrong?

Not sure why you would live in a place you dislike so much. Seems odd to me.

Most of the rat party voters recieve more in EIC than they pay in taxes....maybe we should remove their right to vote until they are economically viable.

Not sure why you think I dislike it so much, seems very odd to me. I simply want to improve it, you know, turn it into a more democratic nation that allows the majority to have direct control over government within the boundaries of the constitution. The kind of stuff we lecture other nations about all the time, maybe we should listen to our own advice.
