The risk isn't drinking or smoking pot. It's driving while under the influence of ANYTHING - even painkillers. Doesn't have to be an illegal substance. Hence my "try again".

Oh so you're just trying to show other things that people do to try and reduce what the effect of pot is. Gotcha. I'll remember that. ;) No matter what other substances or scenarios you throw out there it will not reduce the effects or harmfulness of pot.

Sounds like you're just pretty biased then.

Yeah I am biased. So what? Since when is it wrong to be biased against something that is illegal and is plainly harmful? Are you not biased against rapists? Murderers? Drug dealers?

So just because it's illegal it's "wrong" and "stupid"? That's your litmus test? Legality? Lordy I hope no teachers in VA are having sex out of wedlock. Or with the lights on. It's illegal after all.

That is hardly my litmus test. Though it is a part of it I'll admit. I've argued against pot in the many threads about it on this very forum. You can go look up why I think pot is bad in em if you want.

Again, what makes them stupid?

You want a list? To bad. 1: this thread isn't suppose to be about pot. 2: I've posted what pot does before in other threads on this forum.

That's just terrible.

So not only is your private life not your own "private life" anymore but you also have to worry if an ex friend or ex wife / husband decides for whatever reason to release any previously private intimate details that might constitute illicit behaviour in the eyes of the seraphs among us!

That's the way it's been for at the very least a couple of decades now...hadn't you noticed that? Take a look at celebrities and what happens to them. It's happened in lots of divorce cases also. It's just the way life is now. If you want something to be kept truely private you don't tell ANYONE and keep your curtains drawn.

I, too, did not respond to the poll.
Salem witch trials come to mind.

Adult porn is legal but kiddie porn - that would be a different issue.

Pot? Hell's bells - quite a few of my high school teachers smoked pot as well as some college professors; but they were the "hip" and "groovy" ones back in my day. LOL

Swearing etc.? Is it done in anger? Is there a definitive list regarding which words should be included or not included?

Affairs? Only if a minor student was involved - and I'd better make damn sure of my facts.

I've been seeing that a lot in this thread.

So just because they did it then it must be alright now...right? If your teachers were jumping off the empire state building would you do the same? Would it be "hip" and "groovy"? What's the defination of "sheeple" again?

Note to Dulcinea, this post wasn't directed at you personally. Just used it because it was the easiest one to get to.

Do you know what happens when you "assume" something? No I don't play private cop. Not even slightly. But if I do find out that a teacher is smoking pot you can be sure that I will report it. But I don't go looking to find out if they smoke pot.

I "assume" nothing. I read your words, I comprehend English, I see you for exactly what you are. You can kid yourself, but ya can't kid me. Just understand, that no matter how many good people you crap on, it will never make you feel any better about yourself.

:lamo that's hilarious! :lamo You think you know me? Think again bud. What's my favorite color? What color are my eyes? My skin? How many kids do I have? What are my favorite books? Favorite songs? Outlook on life? Who's my favorite President? My least favorite President? What was the best moment in my life? My worst? Where I have I lived? Or have I lived in the same area for all my life? My favorite kind of animal? Whats my favorite pet that I have had, or do have?

Don't assume you know me from a few postings on a forum. I don't assume anything about you, I expect the same curtesy.

No personal affront taken. However, nowhere in my post did I say or even imply that the students of said teachers/professors followed their example. Nor did I suggest that *I* thought that said instructors were hip and groovy.

In fact, I would dare to suggest that those instructors were more the sheeple than the students; trying to fit into a generation that had passed them by. Sort of like Woody Allen saying he missed the sexual revolution.

I honestly can't tell if you're just joking and playing with words or if you just misread what I wrote.....:3oops:

Methinks it was both...and neither.

What the heck does any of that crap have to do with the topic? Did I claim to know or care about any of that off topic minutia? What I did comment on, was what you have said in this thread. The belittling, the urge to control other people, and the failure to recognize that ones own views aren't necessarily the only valid ones, are classic symptoms of low self esteem.

Please educate me on the harmfulness of pot. I'd love to hear this... Got science? Or mere anecdotes from losers?

Did you just equate pot to murder and rape? Wow are you out of touch with reality...

Just because something is illegal does not make it wrong, look at the trends and polls, it wont be illegal much longer. Then what? Please, tell me of the harm it does.

Quick! Look up! There goes my point! *woosh*

Let's try this again, I'll type slowly ;) The issue is not the use of the substance, but the use of the substance combined with DRIVING. Therefore, unless you are going to demonize anything that can make someone "under the influence", then demonizing pot for this reason is simply hypocritical.

LMFAO Pot /= Rape and Murder

That is hardly my litmus test. Though it is a part of it I'll admit.
Illegal /= wrong

You want a list? To bad. 1: this thread isn't suppose to be about pot. 2: I've posted what pot does before in other threads on this forum.
Well, pot was listed in the OP as a poll choice. So it kinda is about pot, among other things.

Where these not your words?

I see you for exactly what you are.

You claim to "see me for exactly what I am". In order to know that you have to know me. You don't. All you see is one thread about one topic and don't even know exactly everything that I think/feel about said topic. You claim that I go out of my way to "crap on people" and when I try to tell you that I don't you say the above quote. THAT is what my post was about. Duh! You claim something then you'd better back it up or back off such BS.

I've yet to belittle anyone here.

I have no urge to control anyone....well except my kids but since they are 3 and 5 years old respectively they sort of need controlling. And I would really like to see where I have tried to control anyone on this board. IE Prove what you just said bub.

As for other peoples views being valid...well if those views are about pot being harmless...well that's BS. Pot is anything but harmless. I've seen the effects personally. After you "prove" (unlikely) the above then I would like you to go through my posts again and show me where I have disagreed with anyone on any of their views beyond the views on pot being harmless. If you can't find any then you again are wrong in your thinking towards me.

Nope the point didn't go over my head. I'm just not going to play the "spread the blame game" that always comes up in discussions of pot. If you want to include those then maybe you should start a thread that talks about all of them also. I'll even comment in it. But spreading the blame is just a tactic to try and make pot out to be not as bad as it really is.

In anycase if the person hadn't been stoned would that person have gotten into a wreck..quite possibly killing someone in the process? While yes they could have gotten into a wreck the chances are smaller than if they didn't drive while stoned. In other words them being stoned because they smoked pot is the cause of the accident. We're not talking about those other substances. If you want to do that then start a thread including them.

LMFAO Pot /= Rape and Murder

Nice try but I didn't equate pot with murder and rape. What I did was give obvious examples. Oh and fyi driving while smoking pot and getting into an accident where someone was killed is murder imo.

Illegal /= wrong

Yep. Hence why you can get arrested and get sent to jail, or even prison.

Well, pot was listed in the OP as a poll choice. So it kinda is about pot, among other things.

Agreed but it is not the main subject. The main subject is about teacher's private lives. Which we are straying from by focusing on just a single aspect which was really only an example to begin with.

Please educate me on the harmfulness of pot. I'd love to hear this... Got science? Or mere anecdotes from losers?

There's plenty of threads floating around this forum that show the harmfulness of pot. Go look em up.

Did you just equate pot to murder and rape? Wow are you out of touch with reality...

Nope. They were just obvious examples I used.

Just because something is illegal does not make it wrong, look at the trends and polls, it wont be illegal much longer. Then what? Please, tell me of the harm it does.

It doesn't matter what the polls or tends are, the harmfulness of pot will still remain, and I will still be against it.

Also just because something isn't illegal doesn't make it right also.

All this... "so many teachers smoke pot" is absolute bull ****. Even if it happens in your area, it is not indicative of a larger problem in the slightest. Grow up.
