Estonia, a NATO country, said a Russian military helicopter briefly crossed into its territory last Saturday, suggesting Russia was further threatening the military bloc and lashing out at its closest neighbors. Estonia's defense ministry said Tuesday that a Russian Mi-8 helicopter entered the region of Koidula without permission for two minutes on Saturday, adding that it was one of a number of recent aerial intrusions by Russia. Kusti Salm, the ministry's top civil servant, said Russia was "simulating missile attacks against Estonia" with the threat to the country at an all-time high, Sky News reported. The helicopter intrusion into Estonia comes days ahead of a major NATO summit in Madrid, Spain, set to be held on June 29. NATO members are expected to discuss how the bloc can strengthen in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The Estonia intrusion comes as Russia is also threatening Lithuania, another of its neighbors.

Moscow is engaging in provocations with NATO countries.

Give a warning to Putin that the next helicopter to enter their air space will be shot down. Then do it if it occurs again. Helicopters are easy targets with the right weapons.

For all we know they are probing to see what the response is for an invasion later.

Gee, and what happened they respond by letting us know they’ll shoot down the next American plane which buzzes by a Russian ship?

Both sides have been pulling stunts like this for decades; it dates back to the Cold War itself.

The incursion must have been a tiny fraction of an inch(prob. just a few microns), otherwise we would have seen nato action because they promised to defend every inch of nato territory! :D

You're about as funny as Putin.

Don't quit your day job at 55 Savushkina Street.

If I were Estonia I would go ahead and kick Russia's ass. Why not? Uncle Sam has guaranteed little Estonia's safety in the face of anything from Russia

Satire from the Kremlin Propaganda Dept.

Perhaps NATO has some restraint vs. the failure running the Kremlin? That said the NATO treaty requires an attack for a response in kind, but you probably know that. Or maybe you don't?

I feel sorry for the Russian helicopter pilots. They are mere pons to Putin and he may well be sending them to their deaths. I can't imagine what it must be like burning to death falling from the sky.

And people like you joke about it.

Again, BOTH sides have been doing things like this for decades. This is literally nothing new.

Like... the attack of Yugoslavia against a nato member? Or the attack of Libya against a nato member? Wait a minute, perhaps you can show us when art. 5 was invoked in those cases?

Or even... Afghanistan! Did Afghanistan attack any nato member? Did America present evidence to the taliban, showing osama's implication in 9/11? There's no such evidence to this day!

On the contrary, nato is a very aggressive terrorist organization that ONLY ATTACKED OTHER COUNTRIES WITHOUT PROVOCATION and at least one of its members is permanently at war with some country, illegally invading and attacking it.

Nato is powerless against Russia otherwise they'd have attacked it long ago. Instead they're pushing for these proxy conflicts(by fooling/bribing poor and stupid regimes), knowing that others will have to suffer the losses.

Russia has shown way too much restraint and tolerated too much aggressive and criminal crap from the us/nato. And not just Russia, but rather most of the world has been too tolerant of America's criminal and warmongering behavior!

Russia could do a lot of stuff in Ukraine hat it hasn't done so far:
- destroy energy infrastructure
- destroy telecommunications infrastructure
- destroy all rails that go to adversary countries
- establish a no-man's-land zone, say 20 km from the border in the west/south(expel all the population, ban any kind of movement through those borders, monitor the area with drones)
- impose the death penalty for any non-ukrainian/russian/belarussian caught in ukraine(except perhaps for a few authorized journalists)
- target the moronic leadership in kiev

Russia could certainly add to the rapidly growing list of its war crimes in Ukraine.
