A CBS News poll of Republican primary voters nationally this month showed Mr. Trump leading Mr. Cruz among evangelicals 33 percent to 22 percent.
In South Carolina, where Mr. Trump won a commanding victory, earning all 50 delegates, he carried evangelicals by six percentage points over Mr. Cruz and 11 percentage points over Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, according to exit polls.
Donald Trump, Despite Impieties, Wins Hearts of Evangelical Voters - The New York Times
Well, Trump is now stirring **** up in the ME. So he no longer has that argument going for him.
So Hillary would've been having regular tweetstorm tantrums, too?
33% isn't whole heartedly. Like I said, small pluralities.
As NYT stated, he won a COMMANDING victory over former conservative darlings Cruz and Rubio. What does Trump offer that those two didn't? Evangelicals sold out. They are a laughing stock.
33 to 22 and 26?
What makes you give a **** what the NYT thinks? They want to **** over Republicans any chance they get. No one cares what the NYT thinks anymore.
You are here to parse words. That is all you have. You know Trump is bad for the Evangelical Movement in the long run.
You didn't give a damn about the evangelical movement until they voted for Trump over Hillary. So spare me.
I am raised Christian and still practice. I have been critical of mainstream Christianity for years. But please keep assumptions coming.
"Mainstream" Christianity. If you are going to bluff don't tip your hole cards.
Bluff about what? Being a Christian? I have mentioned my faith at times for years on DP and Political Crossfire. But go ahead and ask me if I care one iota if you believe me. Actually, I find it hilarious that you even bother to post that you think I’m bluffing on my faith. Aren’t liberals supposed to be proud atheists or agnostic at best? Are you stereotyping?
Sir, you referred to it as mainstream Christianity, meaning you want to claim being an insider for credibility and an outsider to lack responsibility for their decisions.
I don't think you are bluffing your faith, but I do think you don't consider what the rest of Christianity does until it does something you don't like.
Ostensibly, I am Lutheran, but I don't go to church a lot, so I don't think I should have any considerations in how the Lutheran Church conducts itself. Do you perhaps see what I am getting at?
I approach the powers in a religion the same as I approach corporate or government powers: with a skeptical eye. Power attracts the greedy and corrupt. The narcissists and the sociopaths. It doesn’t matter if it’s my religion or someone else’s.
Not sure what this is supposed to mean.
Not going to mosque doesn’t seem to stop conservatives from having a lot of opinions on Islam.
I was raised nondenominational Christian. But whether I am one or not I have a right to have an opinion on it just as I have an opinion on the Syrian government despite not being Syrian, or an opinion on Monsanto even if I do not work for them or buy their products.
