Man is a religious animal
Just as Man is a social animal,
Just as Man is a political animal,
Indeed just as Man is a rational animal
So too is Man a religious animal
From the primitive cave painting to the Sistine Chapel,
Man has tried to connect with Divinity
Before the later revelations,
Before the visions and covenants that came later,
Before the tribal organization of religion,
From the very beginning
Man sought connection (religare, to bind fast) to the Spirit
Religion is in Mankind's DNA
Religion is in the nature of Man
To deny the religious impulse in Man
To decry the religious experience in Man
To defy the institution of religion
Is the Height of Folly
Is the Depths of Despair
Religion is the Signature of Man
Everything outside of the unduly exalted methodically limited scientific imagination sounds like something imaginary to you, which is also the reason profundity goes undetected by you. What do you mean by behind or beyond? And how can you know that there is a behind or beyond? It sounds like something make believe pretending to be profound.
Your argument applies equally to human society and politics, but you don't apply it there. How do you except religion? And why? Some things have been near universal and all human societies throughout history. Religion is certainly one of them. But so have slavery and misogyny and primitive tribalism. To say that religion has been universal throughout the history of man and therefore something to just be excepted, or even be lauded, I still think there slavery and misogyny should be too.
I am not saying religion is necessarily bad. But I think the argument that just because something has been universal among human societies to date necessarily means that it is an inevitable part of human nature is not accurate. If anything that the study of anthropology, sociology, and history have shown is that human nature is far more malleable than we have ever imagined.
While it’s true that religion has been almost near universal all human societies, there is nothing inevitable about it.

Now I'm on hiatus until the 21st. Happy New Year. I'll resume the attempt to broaden your horizons when I return.
Within the next decade, humanity will be divided into two groups.
The group that will worship a man on earth (or his "image") and take his "mark" ......
and,
another group that will refuse to worship this man (or his "image") and will refuse to take his "mark".
The latter group will be beheaded.
So what?
If true, that's because those included in your "we" have been gravely limited in their reading and thought.
Angel,
well written.
Man has had a longing for God since the beginning's of time.
To go against God and His plans of Salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ, is to go against all that we were created for.
With a meaning, and true. Your inability to discern as much tells against your limited scientific orientation.
What makes those facts is that they are borne out empirically with an intelligent glance at the world and world history.
Your inability to recognize their factuality reflects poorly on your limited scientific orientation.
