Biden claims he has all these wonderful ideas he will put in place if elected. The big question is-----------if he had all those wonderful solutions, why didnt he have Obama put them in place when he was VP????

The sorry fact is ----------------- Biden has been in Washington for almost 50 years and has become part of the problem, rather than having any solutions.

Promising undecided voters more free stuff isn't the way to win an election. Of course telling them you are going to force them to wear face masks until you deem they are not necessary while hiding in your basement isn't the way to win one either.

They did lots of stuff during the Obama years. Launched the longest economic expansion in American history, expanded health insurance to 20+ million people, reformed the financial system, etc. Still lots left to do, particularly given the unmitigated disaster the last four years has been.

The work continues.

Uh-------------------2% growth of the GNP under Obama was a joke.

Bingo!
Folks, we have a winner... ^^^

Trump won the election because of the failures of his predecessors. Are they pretending that they didn't lose both the senate, the house, and the majority of the governorships in his last two of his eight years? Chaos and crisis and a weakening of our Republic began under the race baiting years of the failed Obama administration. Obama and Biden had eight long years to do something about their alleged claims of systemic racism, and both did NOTHING.

Just another member of the swamp.

The sad fact is, GWB screwed the pooch, and all Republicans, screw the pooch, so that when a Dem gets in power, there is no money for any projects.

I've been worried about this for awhile now.

Democrats have become what they claim they are against, 2016 and 2020 are seeing the same thing with relics of the party with a plethora of baggage telling the American people they are the solution.

They did not always do things this way but they seem to have become aristocratic and party insiders with zero real new solutions.

I still think Biden is the better choice over what Trump has revealed about how he looks at being President, but it is quite literally picking between two buckets filled with ****. One just happens to be a little less full.

Troll bait thread. Buyers beware.

You know or should know that a VP can not force a President to do what he wants, except for Cheney and that was a side deal to let Cheney run the country beforehand.

No person in politics is a savior you are holding him up to the same standards as every Repug member of Congress that has only done harm to this country. Moscow Mitch being a turtle is 150 years old and has been in politics for 125 years and has not done one good thing for the America people. NOT ONE.

Because of Obama screwing the pooch so badly it is the reason Trump was elected. Try to prove that wrong.

But if Joe's ideas were simply as great as he say it is, then Obama was an ignorant damned fool.

No Obama did what he could with a Congress that was against him because he is black. Trump has only done things to damage our nation and world.

I agree with the bolded above. And IMO, it's exactly why Trump was elected.
The people saw it, and they said, let's try something new.
Let's face it, despite Trump's crass way of getting his points across, and if it weren't for the world pandemic that has crippled economies everywhere, Trump got the economy booming. I also will say that he hasn't had ANY help from the obstructionist Democrats. The only thing they offer to this country is division, unproven CT theories, and resistance.

THE FACTTTTTTTTTTTTTT is, that the reason why we have depressions/recessions, is due to riding the edge. To get maximum gains, the rich rig the economy to burn hot, which creates, cold. They the rich also use those periods of cold, to buy up the holdings of the newly poor.

So, we are at the mercy of the rich. Now Obama had the economy at a level that SUSTAINED, and then SUSTAINED some more. Without any inflation. That is DUE to a workable level of growth. That went on and on. Trump threw coal in the burner as fast as he could stuff it. Gave the rich all our dough. And it goosed the economy. Which resulted in very few gains for the workers wage, or jobs created. They bought back stocks etc. You right wingers idea of a GOOD economy is a FAKE economy. With a casino owning man running the show.

What nonsense.
Obama had control of both the senate and the house for 4 months and when he did not have control of the senate, he got three Republicans to cross over, break the filibuster, and vote for the Obama stimulus.

Uh-------------------2% growth of the GNP under Obama was a joke.

Key word, growth, the longest in American history. Tell us again how Obama was the worst president ever.

Republicans are like the tortoise and hare fable. Quick to start, fade in the end as slow and steady passes them by.

Republicans had it in for Obama before Day 1
By Jonathan CapehartAugust 10, 2012

I have long told President Obama’s most ardent supporters to read Charles Krauthammer. He’s a guaranteed angry read. But if you set aside his rhetorical rage and focus on the substance, Krauthammer does a good job of making the right’s case against the president. Think of him as Chris Christie to George Will’s Tim Pawlenty.

Today’s Krauthammer column is a fine example of what I’m talking about. The headline says it all. “The case against reelection.” In it, he argues that Obama’s presidency has been a failure and that Mitt Romney should make the “ideological” case rather than the “stewardship” case against him. “Obama’s ideology — and the program that followed — explains the failure of these four years.”

Thanks to a new book by Michael Grunwald, we know with certainty that what Krauthammer argues is a load of bunk. Republicans are complicit in the failures they rail against.

At first, we thought organized Republican recalcitrance against the president started in October 2010 after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) famously said, “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.” Then came Robert Draper’s book, “Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the U.S. House of Representatives,” this spring. As the Huffington Post’s Sam Stein reported in April, the book reports on a dinner of leading Republicans held the night of Obama’s inauguration.
For several hours in the Caucus Room (a high-end D.C. establishment), the book says they plotted out ways to not just win back political power, but to also put the brakes on Obama’s legislative platform.

"If you act like you're the minority, you’re going to stay in the minority,” Draper quotes [Rep. Kevin] McCarthy [R-Calif.] as saying. “We’ve gotta challenge them on every single bill and challenge them on every single campaign.”

And Stein highlights this useful passage from Draper’s book:
The dinner lasted nearly four hours. They parted company almost giddily. The Republicans had agreed on a way forward:

Go after Geithner. (And indeed Kyl did, the next day: ‘Would you answer my question rather than dancing around it — please?’)

Show united and unyielding opposition to the president’s economic policies. (Eight days later, Minority Whip Cantor would hold the House Republicans to a unanimous No against Obama’s economic stimulus plan.)

What nonsense.
Obama had control of both the senate and the house for 4 months and when he did not have control of the senate, he got three Republicans to cross over, break the filibuster, and vote for the Obama stimulus.

The Bank and Wall Street stimulus that McConnell and the other Repugs begged him to do, but then would not vote for it.

4 months out of 48 LOL

Not a single logical answer from the left on this question.
