A new world order? BRICS nations offer alternative to West

Argentina is not going to change the world no matter how badly you wish it so.

The US gave Argentina $2.5 million in funding in 2020. From now on, we should send any funding to Argentina in Albanian Lek's.

A lot of talk. Very little action.

🤣 Brazil has a history of mismanaging its currency and economy. So does most of Latin America. It’s like the head bank robber coming out and saying, “Hey, fellas, how about we all pool our money and open a bank?” I mean, it could be useful for settling internal trade accounts, but it would still need to be exchanged for other currencies outside the bloc, such as the dollar and the euro, and I can’t imagine anyone wanting to hold it unless it’s coupled with drastic economic reforms and membership requirements, which socialist, anti-capitalist Latins are loathe to do.

IMO BRICS is a real threat primarily because they are committing to economic trade and oil purchases in other currencies than the USD, and OPEC is interested. It's also allowing Russia to bypass all the financial embargos currently placed on it.

The West is not in good economic shape right now and China is working 24/7 to undermine us. They have made impressive inroads in the past 3 years.

Reminds me of the country that's managing what's probably the biggest ponzi scheme in the world.

They're also part of a growing global middle class.

Still, why would anyone put a dime into a Brazilian currency:

At least the U.S. still possesses the world's dominant reserve currency and the world's largest economy, which has proven to be amazingly dynamic and resilient without the political upheaval, corruption, and hyperinflation experienced by Brazil. It's done this despite a profligate and, at times, inept government.

The article doesn't refer to a Brazilian currency.

I was responding to this link in Post #135:

Then you went off on Paul Krugman tangent.

Brazil’s currency sucks. So does that of virtually every other country in Latin America. They all stink. You’re not going to create a rose by stacking shit into an even higher pile.

It took a while for this prescient cartoon...

India? British colonies. China? British colonies. Africa? British colonies. And yet the most prominent, fattest imperialist depicted in your cartoon is an American. 🤣

They still have the people, and, thank god, we still have the guns. (Notice how all of these countries support Russian imperialism? Always have?)

They're not referring to Brazil's currency but to a regional one.

As for the aside that all currencies "stink," one should look no further than the U.S. dollar. More details in the Krugman "tangent".

India was controlled by Britain, and they had colonies in Africa, together with various European countries. The U.S. engaged in similar via gunboat diplomacy, the Philippines, and "Manifest Destiny". The American is fattest because his country has more resources than those of Britain. It was also, ironically, a former British colony.

The "guns" are made possible thanks to the effects of the Triffin dilemma, as partly revealed in the Krugman "tangent," and may soon diminish if the topic of this thread continues. I'll let you figure out how.

Finally, they're siding with Russia because that's the "R" in BRICS.

Aside: the reference to having people and guns reminds me of The Doors "Five to One", but I think the lyrics went something like "they (those in power) have the guns but we have the numbers".

Why don't you allow your country flag to show?

With your knowledge, it is not worth starting such discussions.
Russia is neither exclusively ethnic nor exclusively white... It is a multinational country, which is reflected in the Constitution.

The main difference between BRICS and the West is that we are not conducting cultural expansion. Brics does not make demands either on the form of government or on national traditions, we do not force them to accept their values.
RT seems to not like that. Diversity is routinely mocked.
