A Must-See Episode of Glenn Beck - Faith of our Founders

This aired Thursday, April 8th. You can watch the entire episode at The Daily Beck- Watch The Glenn Beck Show- April 8, 2010.

Might I suggest you get your informatiom from sources paid to generate truthful, supported, and exhaustively reviewed research such as university professors and scholars? Instead you propose Glen Beck? A man who is paid to attract viewers, who has been repeatedly caught lying or deceiving his viewers (a pundit, without a doubt), to increase his ratings and viewers, and who has not the slightest motivation to speak truth or make honest claims.

Perhaps glen becks speaks truth, but I find his track record and job more than enough reason to pretty much ignore anything he says without corroborating evidence from sources of more integrity.

Have you? Do you know what its about? Do you know the author of it was a socialist? He wrote another book that you fringe types like to misconstrue.

Yes and yes.

You made an implication that their mention of God somehow made our country built on christinity. It was not

They mentioned Christ many times as well. I don't believe our country was created to be a "Christian nation", but the majority of the Founders were some sort of denomination of Christianity and deeply religious at that.

So what pray tell do you think Animal farm is about

It's an allegory about how corruption, power-hungry people and greed can destroy a country.

Majority? Like who? You have to understand most of our founding fathers came from England where religious tests were actually a requirement for office. Even so they are not the evangelicals that we have today and were not congregationalists. Our country was not founded on any sort of christianity.

Majority as in excluding Thomas Paine who many believe was an atheist. I never said they were evangelicals like we see today nor did I say they created a nation for Christians.

Yes, in a way. Nothing is completely perfect.

But do you understand how Orwell was making a comparison? Old Major (a mixture of Marx and Lenin) being the preacher of a pure communist society and Napolean being the Stalin character corrupting Lenin's ideas.

Lets name names and stop generalizing. Who were the majority christians?

Of course. Why are you assuming I don't understand this?

You know who the Founders were. Research it for yourself if you don't know their religious beliefs.

I'm not doing your homework for you. You made a statement that they were majority christians. I ask which ones were and you generalize. Its like when Palin was asked what books and magazines she reads.

What was your point of bringing up animal farm?

Because it can be paralleled to our country. *sigh* No, I don't mean we should be Communist. Yes, I mean that we should go back to what our Founders created instead of letting corruption, greed and power-hungry people distort and morph us into something different than how we began.

Funny earlier on in the thread you claimed that they did create the country to be a christian nation... which is it?

I've done my homework. I don't need to keep repeating myself on this thread. It's tiresome.

How is it a parallel to our country? That's not what you were saying in asking someone if they read Animal Farm. Maybe you read the Cliff notes version of the book

Um...no I've never thought that our Founders created a nation just for Christians. They were deeply religous people and that guided their creation of the country. It's very simple, really.

You're only repeating yourself because you refuse to answer the questions that are directed at you and continue spouting vague generalizations like "The majority of the founders were christians." When asked who you expect others to do your research...

Okay here we go I'll imitate you.

The majority of the founders were deists. "Now do my homework for me"
