A light hearted exchange between Joe and a Trump supporter

Trump really lives rent free in some folks heads.

I can't imagine this exchange with Trump because I couldn't imagine a light hearted Kamala voter.

Right, it's everyone else that's not light heated. Just stop it, already. Trump is an asshole, and you know it.

Look at Joe! Changing one Trump supporter at a time! So nice to see someone with a sense of humor about himself.

HAHAHA!! You folks are so thin skinned.

Yeah, that guy is totally gonna vote Joe Biden.

...wait..

This was funny. Good on Joe Biden for going in there to talk with mostly Trump voters.
How are you the first conservative I've seen to correctly identify the nature of this interaction.

Somehow everyone from most of Twitter, to Fox, to users here seem convinced this was some horrible PR disaster for Biden and an example of him being senile and "supporting Trump".

Didn't you just post a video of one?
That's a good point.

We can't know for sure of course...but somehow I'm fairly certain Biden is going to vote Harris. And you just described this interaction yourself as light hearted.

Maybe because you limit the conservative voices you will read or listen to? I don't know.

I'm not sure how many times I need to tell you all before it sinks in, I don't watch Fox, and don't get any marching orders from anyone. I am a conservative as a process, not a product. I get more out of evaluating the sources of people I disagree with than I would sources I might agree with. The vast majority of political pundits on all sides are mouth breathing morons. If you have a favorite political pundit then I'd argue you are doing it wrong. Haha.

That being said, Colin Rugg is also a Conservative... so I'm technically the second.

Yeah, there is no reason that anyone should give any thought to one of the two major party candidates for president.

There is no reason someone should turn a thread about something fun Joe Biden did into a thread about Trump.

You all will always ruin the vibe.

Mmm, I go out of my way to listen to most conservative voices. Considering your later statements (getting more evaluating sources of people you disagree with) it is likely I listen to more than you do because I do the same thing.

Woah woah, I think I'm catching strays here. I know some other people were quick to label you as MAGA. Furthermore I never even implied you watched Fox or got marching orders from anyone.

No need to be so aggressive. I'm not the type of leftist to make unfair assumptions about conservatives. From everything I've seen you are very reasonable and I am sorry if what I said came off as an insult or trying to put a label/box on you. It was meant to be a compliment.

I get more out of evaluating the sources of people I disagree with than I would sources I might agree with.
100%.

For me it has gotten to the point where my YouTube seems to have assumed I'm a conservative lol.

I don't know who that is, but I promise you if you look at most mainstream conservative news sources or pundits you'll see they turned this story into an attack on Biden.

But you missed it anyway.

Fair. I'm sorry. You tapped me on the shoulder in the middle of a bar fight. Haha

It came off as you lumping me in with Fox News, which is a standard refrain from others from your side of the political line.

My Youtube is for entertainment purposes only. The closest I get to political in entertainment is hatting what Disney has done to all of my favorite franchises.

Honestly, I don't think there is much to be had or of much use from YouTube that I would call real conservative thought unless you are watching old clips of Thomas Sowell and Milton Friedman.

He's just a conservative social media guy, no reason for you to know him, I guess.

Well, obvious I disagree.

It came off as you lumping me in with Fox News, which is a standard refrain from others from your side of the political line.
I'm sorry. That wasn't the intent. In fact I was trying to do the opposite and contrast your very reasonable analysis against that of Fox News as a compliment.

Well, I agree. But I watch the largest conservative YouTuber's by subscribers to keep a pulse on what conservatives are watching. So Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh, Tucker Carlson, Fox News, Laura Ingraham, Candance Owens, Dennis Prager, Jesse Lee Peterson, JP Sears, Charlie Kirk, Sean Hannity, Dave Rubin, etc.

Out of interest, what liberal/leftist sources do you listen/read to get a different perspective?

He's just a conservative social media guy, no reason for you to know him, I guess.
I looked him up and he is definitely small enough that he's under my radar.

Everything devolves into I hate you / you hate me so rapidly in here, but good on you for this. I really enjoyed seeing what was behind the picture. Funny how people acting like human beings feels nostaligic these days.

Nice post, man.

You may find it interesting that the only one on that list I generally like is Dennis Prager. I don't follow any of them on YouTube, though I think a few are in my Twitter follows. I know "Candace Owens" is in my "Ignored Phrases". Haha.

Essentially, I process my own news so I tend to avoid people whose job is to interpret news.

Out of interest, what liberal/leftist sources do you listen/read to get a different perspective?

I don't need to go to alternative media for the liberal/leftist positions. I read NYT, La Times, CNN, MSNBC, Media Matters, DailyKOS, The Atlantic, Slate, HuffPo, and so on.

As I've said here a few times, a lot of my political reading is directed by arguments here on DP where I actually follow the provided links and read the articles before I respond. So I read whatever people provide in support their arguments. It's also how I figure out who reads their own provided articles and who only read the headlines.

I looked him up and he is definitely small enough that he's under my radar.

Yeah, but then in the sensationalistic glut that we find ourselves in now, the better known someone is you can be fairly certain it's probably for no good reasons...
