Or maybe not so fun, depending how YOU interpret this posting.

Simply: How will you spend your summer in relation to DP? Or more broadly, in relation to social media or other debate forums?

Me? I will be here less often now as I have family visiting later this month and then I am going on a road trip. Canada only road trip that is. Quebec and the East Coast mostly.

Doesn't mean I won't peek in once in a while to keep track of what nonsense the usual suspects are posting. Once in a while.
 

Have fun! We’re going on a road trip to Michigan’s upper peninsula and Mackinac Island. I hear the fudge there is something else!

I also expect we won’t have too much trouble booking hotels or worrying about their rates. Traditionally, a large part of the tourism sector here has been from Canadians, and now that America is great- I suspect they’re not in as much demand./s
 
My wife was laid off in March and will be starting her new job next week. I make enough to keep the family going without her income, but we were in a position where I was not able to recover my emergency fund for any hits and we ended up taking out a loan to fix the septic system. She and I have agreed that we are keeping expenses down until Christmas to reset the finances. On top of that, I am job hunting since I have acquired enough skillset to go for a senior engineering position and get another 30-40k at another company. However, the job hunt will be deliberately slow to ensure I land with a good set of benefits on top of the salary increase, but it will take some focus this summer.

this isn't nonsense Snowflake, you would melt if you worked as hard as i do.



well with July 9 being a kick off day to get serious about my bunker prepping. i am spending less time here, so far i am still looking for my shovels and rakes, to make it look nice for the neighbors who are dismayed at such an undertaking.

however, i may come up with Progress reports if you all interested.

We have a standing invite to the upper P, SIL has a summer home there. I doubt we will go.
 
Doing some traveling. Other than that I will continue supporting a local non profit in any way possible.

I bet there is no bunker, but if there is, and you are serious about that, you have to realize NO bunker is going to save you from God's wrath when the Day of Judgement arrives.

sometimes there is a bunker Snow. start building one in your mind first, then pick up a few shovels and create a Unique one for yourself. they can be quite cozy too, because that is about all we can do. unless the Plan is to go up at the first boom.

Retirement.


It's a thing where you never have to do anything you don't want to do and have mountains of time to annoy elected officials.

Today was a BC day and I used the morning to let certain figures in this province know it sucks to be retired here. It doesn't, its actually pretty cool but I like to annoy politicians.

I am doing this late in the afternoon after several hours in my studio painting and cleaning up.

Tomorrow is a "local government" day and I focus on the city. I will be calling city counselors to register my displeasure over traffic control and I intend to register a formal complaint on traffic! It will solve nothing in its own right, but builds a case over time and creates enough annoyance at city hall I am pleased.
 
I have a weird invasive plant growing around a ditch on one of my properties. It got out of hand cause I rent it out a lot and I had other stuff going on. Currently covers about 10K square feet and growing.

I need the exercise, so I'll be on that next couple of weeks.
 
Apparently, it is some shit called Japanese knotweed.
