This will probably be boring to any potential readers, but it will do wonders for me in venting today's day.
I finally gave up and issued an eviction notice to one of my two roomies. This woman is bat**** crazy. She used to live here once before as a roomie some years ago and I booted her out then, too,but she called when this current room she is in came available and asked to be given a second chance. Not being one to hold grudges, I said ok but first let's talk and get to know one another again to make sure the problems of before didn't happen again.
Before: She had a petri dish in her room, and complained that it was full of mildew. We live on the coast. It's foggy all the time. Of course there is mildew. It's called CLEANING OFTEN to make sure it does not turn into mold. Then there was the dog situation. I told her to keep the front door closed at all times because my dogs are street stupid and I didn't want them to get run over. She always left the door wide open. Then there was the invasion of privacy where she would just walk in our bedrooms for no reason except to "just wanna visit". Closed door to room? No problem..ignore door and walk in. So the last time she left the front door open and I found BOTH dogs out in the street sniffing around, I had enough and told her to get out.
Now: She has gotten snoopy. She complains about the other roomie, who is 24 and when his brother is over, or his girlfriend stops by, or a cousin visits, she is right there to listen through his closed door, then reports to me all they said to each other. When I told her his life is private, she threw her hands up and said I kiss his ass. Then she told him she knows where he parks when he is at work. Um, that's stalking. She called him a bratty liar and a sneak when he said he had permission for his girlfriend to come over. She complains he does not clean the bathroom they share well enough. She sits under his window, outside, and smokes her cigs where the smoke goes in his room and if he complains, she comes running to me bitching about it. Then the proverbial final straw was when I was outside she came up to me and said she doesn't want to here him having sex with his girlfriend or when he is masturbating and would I speak to him about it. I said "get your damn ear away from his window and door and you won't hear it!".
So, I gave her notice today. In 30 days (hopefully less), she will be gone and we can all breathe a sigh of relief. This woman has not once vac'd the front of the house (she shares that section with the other roomie), has not bought any trash can liners, has not cleaned the counters in the kitchen (other roomie never uses the kitchen) after usage, never mopped, never dusted, never showed any interest in doing her part although she DEMANDS the place be kept clean and to HER standards. She won't even empty the ashtray out front if one of my cigs is in it cuz it is not HER butt. She will dump it, but leave mine in it. She complained when I let the birdbath dry up instead of filling it herself, and complained that she was gone for 2 weeks dog sitting and shouldn't have to pay 2 weeks of utilities since she was not here. When she said that I replied "when you make your car payments and don't drive it for a week, do you demand they knock off 7 days of the car payment?" and she said "that's different". I said no it is not different..pay up!
Anyway...I have done all I could to make her happy. I am done with it. I want my house back and find another roomie! One like the young man in the other room. Quiet. Polite. Easy going. CLEAN.
And that is the end of today's rant. Whew!
