  • Afghanistan: Taliban vs government and foreign advisors
  • Algeria: Islamic Radicals vs Algerian government
  • Balkans: Islamic radicals vs government (fairly quiet now, some sporadic activity)
  • Central Asia: Rare Islamic radical attacks.
  • Congo: Mired in deadly chaos with domestic and foreign gangs roaming the country.
  • Pakistan: Conflict with Islamic radicals
  • Iran: Iran vs the Western World
  • Iraq: At war with ISIS
  • Israel: At war with Islamic radicals
  • Kurdish Lands: At war with ISIS, Turkey, et al.
  • Lybia: Islamic radicals vs. moderates
  • Mali: Sporadic Islamic radical attacks in the South
  • Mexico: Drug cartel violence is a problem but people are more concerned about corruption
  • Nigeria: Islamic radicals vs the government
  • Sudan: Islamic radicals vs the government
  • Syria: Islamic radicals vs the government
  • Yemen: Islamic radicals vs the government

So 15 of 17 conflicts involve aggressive Muslim radicals. The US is involved in only 3 of them by my count.

It's sort of like Chicago, where the vast majority of the city can go along just fine even while inner city men are shooting each other. The world takes no notice of the above conflicts except with they affect a common interest, i.e., oil production.

Of interest is those areas no longer on this list, such as Somalia and Indonesia, where Islamic radicals have been crushed and there is peace. So it is possible with determination to get rid of the radicals and have peace, but crushing the radicals seems to be the only way. Peace treaties never hold.

Also of note is the pernicious role of the Saudis, who continue to attempt to sell their violent and intolerant brand of Islam all over the world.

looks like the regional powers in the Middle East have their work cut out for them. meanwhile, we should rebuild our own country.

We should probably address the one closest to home: Mexico vs. the drug cartels. We could end that one pretty quickly if we'd just end the so called "war on drugs" and admit it isn't working.

out of all of the wars listed, i could see a US role in that one. after all, we are the regional hegemon. while rethinking our drug policies, we should tell Mexico that they have five years to clean it up; otherwise, we're coming in to do it for them. wartime tax rates would apply as long as the conflict lasts, of course. as for the Middle Eastern wars, that's Saudi Arabia's job.

Saudi Arabia is a despicable country and the #1 source of radical extremism. We should be focusing on the source of the monster instead of trying to whack all of the tentacles that pop up. They have no respect for even the most basic of human rights or western values, yet because of their oil our politicians bow and appease.

Yep. That's probably why Saudi Arabia is also the head of the UN Human Rights Council.

You forgot the low level war in Ukraine.

How many of these groups are being supplied weapons by white christian men?

I hadn't heard that the war in Somalia was over. That's good news. Did they do it without the US military intervening? If so, then we should learn some sort of a lesson from that.
