The Judicial branch of government has been forever damaged, and has no credibility as an equal branch of government, with the unprecedented actions by the Senate of the last 5 years. When A nominee that was never given a hearing, was held up for over a year in what was nothing but pure partisan political malpractice, only to be filled by another move of unprecedented political partisan malpractice, and then engage in three years of what can only be deemed as the epitome of court packing, by the most unqualified sycophants that could be dredged up by the most partisan of organizations in the country. No decision from this point forward by these courts can ever be deemed as unbiased decisions based upon blind justice, and in no way represents the will of the people but for special interests. No parent will ever be able to look at their children now, and say it is important to obey the laws and follow the rules. That has forever been sullied, and cheapened. No American of any stripe can ever act shocked or dismayed, should future actions be taken to undue this un American, and un Constitutional atrocity the founders would not have stood for.

Repuglicans have destroyed our country from the inside out and we're never going to get this democracy which so many men have died for -- back again. This country is lost and it's all their fault.

Oh brother...

No need to read past your first word... posting such blatant immaturity is just full blown whining.

This country is lost and it's all their fault.

America is lost? The country is lost?

What dramatic and uneducated drivel. America is steadily, and always has been, moving more and more progressive.

I usually skip right past any of your comments to anyone, this time I looked and know for sure now that you're comments aren't worth even a peek anymore, they are as insignificant as you are.

That is great.

I, on the other hand, will continue to point out your posts that are riddled with uneducated and whiny garbage.

America is lost? Perhaps you can save a bit of dignity and explain how, the country is lost and will not recover... ever.

Maybe you can also tell us where you are going to move to now that the country is lost?

Thank you.

So, you're upset because their partisanship trumped YOUR partisanship? That about cover it?

On the one hand, you are right. America is steadily and always moving more and more progressively. On the other hand, it is impossible not to notice the chaos that has now been created in public administration for at least 10 years. The reason for this chaos is the populism of the Democratic and Republican parties, and their dependence on voters. While 90% of voters are not competent in the choice of politicians and in public administration. Hence, the United States is increasingly absorbing the political chaos created by the incompetent choice of politicians, presidents, their populism and party populism. What do you think should be the way out of this situation? And is there any way out? Do you not notice anything of this, and are happy with everything? By the way, who did you vote for, for Trump, or against him?

And yet, is there really no person in the entire Republican party who would approve and implement all those ideas that Trump is pursuing, but would be an honest and competent person?

If we took money out of the election process, limited it to a very short time period, gave free air time to candidates and allowed voting to be universal and election day to be a holiday, we just might attract better people to office. Until then, expect to get power mad folks of all abilities. The real surprise is that some of them are actually very good public servants.

The incoming blue Presidency and Congress in 2021 will correct the errors in our politics.

One, SCOTUS seats will be increased to sixteen, and court cases will begin to roll back bad decisions.

Two, the EC will be rendered moot with NPV passed by 2023.

Three, either the GOP changes to represent citizens instead of corporations or it will reman ia permanent minority party

Why not make it 21, 37 seats on the Supreme Court?

Got any examples that are close to what has happened over the last three years compared to any other party? I'll wait.

Pardon my ignorance, but what has happened in the past three years?

There is little question that much has been damaged. Not to worry, we can and will recover from this. There are many unknowns ahead for us, but when has that ever stopped us before. It may take several administrations to get there, but get there we will.

I'd love to see a national primary on Labor Day weekend, following four regional debates that focus on one int'l and one regional issue each. Party conventions in September, campaign in October, vote in November. Give tax credits to people that cast ballots, have polls open over a period of days, encourage early voting, same day registration. The more people that cast votes the better. I'd also tie renewal of media licenses to the broadcasters not releasing any election or polling results until the polls are closed everywhere in America. Then, when the election is done, release early voting results the day after the election and the balance of the ballots the following week. We need accurate results, not immediate ones.

The poster I was responding to indicated that people are only upset because of the political side they are on. I asked him to find any area of partisianship that equals the last three years partisianship. What happened? Pick up a paper and look, the current administration has appointed and the Senate approved 9 judges rated as 'unqualified' by the ABA.

I think the partisanship during the Obama administration that eventually led to Harry Reid abolishing the filibuster for nominees was at least as partisan.

Unfortunately, I don't much stock int he ABA ratings anymore. They've become a bit too political

What are you, a boomer? This is not the 80s, the Dems have long ago become the party of large corporations and left the working class behind, it just took the electorate until 2016 to realize it, even though the Clintons fundamentally transformed the Democrat party from the party of workers to the party of the corporate elite.

All the Clintons did in this regard was move to the right. The GOP just moved two steps further to the right to gain separation. What is missing in these types of discussions was the enormous impact Milton Friedman had upon economists across the world. Most of the worlds economists were trained in his ideology and it became the dominant economic philosophy. This unfortunately convinced the left to abandon Keynes in favor of Milton. Once that happened, corporations no longer had a political adversary in Washington and within economics departments. We paid the price for this in 2008 and again this year.

No, my friend, it is such as you who have stepped away from citizenship and have become too partisan.

Your statement is goofy. The Dems moved to center right so the GOP moved even further right. Your okey dokey millennial croakey don't-understand-nothing nonsense is just nonsense.

Missing from his argument was the reason they had to change the filibuster rules, total partisan obstruction on a massive scale by the right wing. But Harry did keep it for SCOTUS picks. Mitch got rid of that as soon as he could.
